it sure was offensive (lol). let me explain ....
natural selection is the process by which individual organisms with favorable traits are more likely to survive and reproduce than those with unfavorable traits.
this is based on the Darwin's theory of evolution which indicates that for a species to survive, natural selection has to occur. this means that for a species to survive, those individuals with favorable or superior traits will survive and reproduce and those folks with weak, defective and have unfavorable traits die out.
if he said you are proof the natural selection does not work, this means the human species did not get get rid of those with unfavorable traits like yourself.......meaning not too nic, huh?.
you can go back to him and tell him you are surprised that he even remotely believes or acknowledges evolution since as a minister it goes against all his beliefs. he will probably tell you that...no, he does not believe in it. then you can tell him "i agree with you too. natural selection cannot be true if both of us are here. it has got to be only because of God's mercy and grace".
