a simple check up may not have detectected bacteria in the root canal which could be begining to build on the one side internally, or dude you cracked the tooth or chipped it. good luck and don't wait, get it checked before the WHOLE TOOTH begins to throb in extreme pain at the worst possible moment, and a dentist not open for the whole threee day weekend!!!!!

Tooth may be cracked or you have a problem with your gums. it could happen for many reasons including grinding your teeth during sleep. Have you been under stress lately? See your dentist to find out for sure.

Probably a crack in your tooth that is affecting your pulp chamber. Get it looked at before it becomes a huge problem.

Go to your dentist, if it's tooth ache it could be very serious. maybe you have a cavity or if its one of your very back teeth and you dont have your wisdome teeth yet it could be pressure from them starting to come down. I had that problem and it went away eventually.
