please tell me what u guys think about nuclear power plants being built in australia? i think its a good concept however im worried bout stuff the health of all the peoples around the plants

We buried our head in the sand on nuclear energy for too long.Both parties(political)endorsed this rediculous policy for decades.We mine the uranium for other countries.And remain nuclear free,laughable.So lets build the safest,best nuclear power plants in the world.Would prefer labor to award this work.As this lot we have now will give it to some yankee mob.France seems to be pretty reliable,or the brits.Not little jonny's mate george.Mind you if the american tender is the best so be it

although there are obvious dangers nuclear power remains the most efficient source of energy and also one where the dangerous waste can be contained. The problems are due to the long life and extreme nature of the waste product, which is why a lot of people are afraid of it. I too am for it simply because it is one of the few sources of energy which can meet our energy demands for the future (at the moment most electricity in the world is still produced from coal fired plants). For me the fundamental point is the waste is minimal in size, it is highly efficient and the waste can be contained. Until we find a new source of energy that yields as much I don't see how our modern day consumer society can survive without using it....whether we like it or not.

There are 440 nuclear power plants in the world, and accidents are extremely rare. Newer technology is even safer than older technology. Overally, nuclear energy is a cleaner source than most other energy sources. Some countries like France get over half of their electricity from nuclear power.

I think they are a low risk, clean source of energy for Australia and I think they should be seriously considered here.

we have more uranium than anyone else why not make the electricity ourselves and sell it to the world?? we'd be rolling in money!! and if were talking about that why the hell do we sell our natural gas cheaper to china than what we can buy it for?? because John Howard is a very slimey little minded not very well endowed man!!
