I am. There are no side effects for me other than drowsiness since it is a sedative. I take a very low dose, .5mg, twice a day. It works in conjunction with my Lexapro for depression. When I'm having a panic attack, I take 2mg or more and the side effects really kick in. Again, it's just a feeling that I'm drugged and I'm very sleepy, but in a good way. I drink coffee to stay awake but that's bad for anxiety anyway. Usually I just deal with the mild drowsiness since it's not that bad at all with only .5mg.

I used lorazepam for anxiety for years, and didn't realize the side effects it was causing because I have bipolar disorder and the problems were blamed on that condition. Lorazepam caused severe memory problems and what I think they call disinhibition (like alcohol can do, but you don't SEEM to be impaired). So if I got angry, I would get REALLY angry and break things, kick holes in the wall, etc. I just couldn't control my behavior. And I would be unreasonably angry, but think I was justified. Once I stopped the lorazepam, my memory got a lot better, and I didn't break things anymore and my anger was proportional to the provocation. I would have figured these things out sooner if the doctors didn't tell me it was the bipolar that was the problem. When I got the internet & looked it up, turns out I'm not the only one in the world with this problem. It's also very addictive, and you might get problems like restless legs and even more anxiety when you quit. Gotta taper it off. I noticed that turning the heat up in the house to about 74 degrees seemed to really cut the anxiety, and it didn't cost any more than the pills, plus no side-effects.

I have trouble remembering things when I am on the lorazepam. I take 2mg and when I do it seems like everything is happening in a dream but my heart does not race and I do not feel the anxiety so I guess that is just the price I will have to pay.

Ativan? I used to take that. That was my favorite tranquilizer :) Sometimes I wish I still had some. The only side effect I experienced was that it can become habit forming. It was an especially nice drug when taken with ONE drink (a doctor told me that!)

I used to take it and had no problems at all. I had a couple of bad days when I got off it though.
