To determine what is the right age, one must look at many factors. First of all, what is the age of both parties? A girl may be ready for a boyrfiend at age 16 or 17; but, the boy may be over 18 and thus not an acceptable choice. What is your maturity level? Can you handle going to school and taking care of your other responsibilities while in a relationship? Can you stand up for yourself and not be pressured by a relationship? Can you handle the time demands of a relationship? How serious is the relationship and are you prepared to call it off if it gets too serious or becomes too much to handle emotionally? What does your family think about the subject and have you talked to them about it? These are very tough questions and there are many more that you should ask yourself. If you must ask others if you are old enough yet, then you probably are not and should wait awhile longer. Get through school first. A relationship will suddenly become more important than everything else and your studies will suffer. Don't worry, the guys will still be there when you finish your education. You'll just be more prepared to deal with them. Good Luck !

Age 15 or 16, or ever 18 or 19. At least, I felt very strange about calling a guy who liked me a "boyfriend" at any younger than that. Don't do anything you feel uncomfortable with.

I think 14 or 15 is a fair age.

well having a boyfriend leads to more serious steps in a relationship such as moving in together getting married and having babies so why not just mess around until your ready for any of those very serious things. really whats the point?
