I also have OCD, best thing to do is go to the library or to a book store and get a book about the condition. It will help you understand the disease. We are born with a chemical inbalnce in the brain and he could have other complications as well.
Have patience dear, but reading about it will help you understand him more.

I suggest watching the movie "As good as it gets" that has a similar problem of someone compulsive disorder.

All it needs is love from within the person.

I am sure you can find a way while the doctors are helping him.

Try:

Understand what excatly obsessive-compulsive disorder is on the internet. See the source section.

What what is missing in your boyfriend's life (as in you loving him)

What is the doctors saying about him (know how he is being judged)

Attempt to reconcile the difference with the love of your own that may help him overcome his behaviour triats.

What a supportive girlfriend! There are so many different medications out there, he may need to try something else. Find a specialist in your area, and go with him. Just because Prozac doesn't seem to be helping, don't give up. There WILL be something that works. There are so many people out there with this disorder, and they are living healthy and happy lives, he can too.

All that you can do is to support his efforts in working with his doctors and therapists.

However, if you feel that his problems have worsened recently, you might want to put your concerns in writing to his doctor(s). He might not see things in the same way as you do, and if not, he won't tell his doctor(s). They need to know in order to help him.
