There are many quotes by Lincoln regarding his faith and belief in God. . Do not take part of a mans letter, use it all. Many people have questioned their Faith especially after the death of a child. Two are below

"In regard to this Great Book, I have but to say, it is the best gift God has given to man. All the good the Savior gave to the world was communicated through this book." (Referring to the Bible after being given one as a gift)
I have been driven many times upon my knees by the overwhelming conviction that I had nowhere else to go. My own wisdom and that of all about me seemed insufficient for that day." Lincoln referring to praying for guidance
Lincoln today would wage a terrible and all out war against the Middle East. Yes I would vote for that. Would you liberals be able to take that? He could stand the deaths of Ten thousand men in one battle, double that if you look at both Union and Confederate losses at most of the big battles. Most of you cannot deal with a war that averages less than a thousand dead a year, and that could accidents not related to combat.

Lincoln was a Republican. I'd be very surprised if Lincoln could get a Republican nomination with those views these days. I'd vote for him if I were an American (I'm an Aussie so I don't get a say), but he'd need a pretty intensive bridging course in the history of politics and society over the last century and a half to be an effective president. I reckon he'd do okay. Better than the current Republican encumbent.

i don't know. even after these terrible six years of fundamentalism, i think that i would still rather have an honest christian leader than a slimy non-christian. that being said, an honest non-christian would be ideal. perhaps with all the advances in science since lincoln's time, he would be much more inclined to change his views. i think lincoln was a good man and wouldn't let religion stand in the way of what is right. after all, christianity condones slavery, which lincoln condemned. so i suppose that yah, i would vote for him.

I'm not sure. I guess if the other candidates were bad enough, it would be an interesting statement to vote for a dead man.

I voted for Mickey Mouse once. But now that I know more about Mickey, I regret that I ever voted for him - I should have voted for Bugs Bunny instead.

I would never vote for or against a person because of a religious dogma. I doubt very much I would vote for a man with a beard.
