Why do they talk about ethics? Isn't becaue they really cannot live with or accept the truly logical conclusions of their madness?
Why do we protect the weak and care for the poor when no other animal does that?where are the hospitals in the jungle? and then you turn around and say ," we are no different from other animals", "we are not special", "we have the same ancestor as all" "we are only a little different", and you think you sound intelligent propounding such myths the greeks would be jealous. Isn't that proof that your nature is not what you say and pretend it is, but only do so because you can, it is an exertion of free will , the dominance of the will, and deny God, because that makes you feel powerful ?
Romans chapter1:22-23 The Bible:
22Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. (this you do)

brainiac, the quickest way to stop sickness and crime is to kill all criminals that hurt us, because if we are evolutionist we should also rob the weak and call it justice, and to get rid of sickness just burn everydody who is sick in anyway, no more worries or expenditure, less tax.Let only thestrong help the strong.

you are all wrong and repeating the same thing. Seriously do you all read by rote the same stuff off the internet?
Teamwork is not wasting time helping.Teamwork in the evolutionists case would be the strong helping the useful and strong ,that is it. Anyway, just admit , I'm right or logic is, or don't evolutionists ever admit when someone is right? Is that how you "survive"? Some sort of coping survival mechanism?

I'm a Christian. Let me start off by saying that, and thumbs up to your question.

I'm one of Jehovah's Witnesses, and I believe that the Bible is the literal word of God. Every bit of it.

But survival of the fittest? Is a fact. It does NOT mean that evolution BETWEEN MACRO SPECIES occurs. But to say that WITHIN a species, evolution and variety does not take place would be a mistake. Giraffe's have evolved WITHIN their own species, and the strongest of them have adapted to their environment. But they cannot moph into another species - ****even with direct intelligent genetic human intervention ****

However, you touched on a seperate issue. Ethics. This bespeaks to the concept of human social parameters. An evolutionist will tell you that they beleive we think, feel, and love as we do, due to the neccesities laid upon us by evolution. That such feelings help foster our species, and help us to survive and become stronger. It is a understandable idea; if only a misguided one. It is an attempt at intelligent explanation, which is commendable. The only problem, is that it is incorrect.

You bring out very, very good points. As humans, we partake in actions selflessly. Evolution, mathematically, states that we should no longer be doing such things, even on a sociological level. It does not contribute to our species.

Add to that fact, the biological fact that we are OVERDEVELOPED. If we evolved, then why did evoltion give us a brain with a near infinite storage capacity. The Bible teaches it is because we were designed to live forever. But evolution teaches this should not happen. Overdesigns such as our own brain should not occur. If you were to live to 300, you would not even BEGIN to explore the capabilities of your own brain. Not by a millionth.

The logical explanation.

The creator.

Yahweh.

Jehovah.

Ethics evolve naturally from the experience of living in social groups. Over thousands of years those ethics become internalized to the point where if we did not actually *feel* them we would not survive. It starts with one's immediate family and spreads from there to other living things.

Atheists have no need of religion to know what's right, both because it's not rocket science and it's part of our instincts anyway. Christians who say they would go on a rampage of theft, rape and murder if they didn't have religion are - most of them - lying to themselves because even atheists don't think they'd do that. The ones who actually behave only out of fear of punishment or hope for rewards have no real morality, only the selfish, craven behavior of infants and dumb animals (nothing against animals though, since many of them do care for each other).

Your take on "evolutionists" is highly ignorant and even more insulting. I don't see the smallest bit of a "loving christian" in you, only a bitter, small-minded and potentially sadistic fraction of a person.

bees sacrifice themselves for the hive everytime an intruder comes. they attack the intruder and die because once the stinger is used, the bee dies. that is the ultimate form of altruism, no? your own jesus is supposed to have done that! and bees do it ALL THE TIME! don't tell me ethics and morality don't exist in the wild. our altruism is manifested in different ways but it all goes to promote the survival of the species, not the individual. humans are not designed to live alone, like reptiles. we develop ethics which are a basis for trust within the group. if you lie, for example, i know you may fail me so i don't trust you. that is how we survived.

finally, look at nature and find any example of an animal slaughtering its own kind. god of the OT made humans do it. and i mean its own kind because killing animals of different species is not murder, its defense and its food. even the wild predators of africa, the lions, the various viscious beasts... they don't murder. a male may try to take power over the pride, like the son of the dominant male, and one may get killed in the fight (although not 100% of the time, often the defeated wanders off), but the attacker doesn't kill the females. most of our ethics you're so proud of can be seen in various groups in nature. and that is how pack animals survive.

EDIT:
pack animals such as humans grow attachments to their own kind, family first, and then the rest of the small group extending out to as far as its knowledge of "who is a part of the group" goes. that knowledge is limited, but can be seen when a dog defends its owner. dogs are known to nurture the wounded. apes have been known to bring food to other apes. it is a fact of the wild seen in the pack mentality. why do we help our sick? because we are bonded to them. what you also fail to realize is that the extent of this helping the "wounded" is only recently as broad as it is. retarded children were often left to die because keeping them alive was too much for the parent. now we have medicinal knowledge and treatment options so that bond is worth more than the cost, because the cost is getting lower.

The theory of evolution is proven fact. But it applies to societies as well as species -- a society which follows sound ethical principles will survive preferably to one that does not. Protecting the weak is arguably beneficial to society, and humans are not the only species that does so. As for the quote, you cannot use a biblical quote to prove a biblical proposition -- that is circular reasoning, a logic error. And you cannot demostrate or prove the existence of god. So, you obviously have a lot to learn.

The answer is simple: Man is intelligent enough to form more complex relationships and ethical behaviors out of self-interest. It's even a subconscious thing that we work together instead of against each other, because we can survive better and fluorish better as a result! It's common sense, really. And we can do it because we have higher reasoning abilities than other species.

And in reply to your further comment, it is YOU who are wrong. Why does everyone sound like they are giving similar answers ?? I challenge you to read ANY book on history society and human interaction and you'll see the same stuff. We are all agreeing in our responses because there is no scientific debate on this. There are literally hundreds of books that will say the same things you are reading in our responses.

Nature is cruel, that's why we evolved brains and banded together to oppose it. Coopertive individuals living in groups have a better chance of surviving than selfish individuals living alone. In essence, that's the basis of our ethics, whether you are religious or not. Saying we are all descended from the same ancestor has nothing to do with our behavior. It's like asking why don't birds swim? Afterall, life began in the water.

We deny God because those who "do his work" try to impose their will upon us.

Not a Question of "Belief" not even a question, Just a rant. A poorly prepared sermon. You are talking about and around social Darwinism in general. Not evolution.

One single bible quotation, surly you should be able to generate many more. Slap a little Old Testament out. This is not the adequately prepared Protestant of my childhood. Onward Christian Soldier. refute your straw men righteously. A little scholarship please.

Oh some animals clearly do succor one another. S

Love how the Dawkins people dont adress the ethics question.

Sad to see if it was legal some would go on a killing spree.

Ethics are from the conscience, the measure of Holy Spirit all are given, the smallest one.

That is from G-d.

We protect the weak and sick because all social animals do it. And unless we drop the sick off at the lion cage at the zoo there really isn't that much threat to them from natural enemies these days.

You could get a lot further towards understanding human behavior by watching social animals' behavior than reading that silly work of fiction again.

you think that while we put ourselves among the rest in the animal kingdom in the biological sense that it makes us feel more powerful? many of us know our minds are far more sophisticated than the average "animal" (whatever that may be), but scientifically, facts exist and we are simply homosapiens. christians do not hesitate to say "i ain't related to no monkey!" and preach their "superiority" to every non-christian, and somehow you are figuring that we non-xtians are on the power trip?

"where are the hospitals in the jungle"????!!!!
(i'm not going to even respond to that)

the bond between mother or father and child and care and protection, even communal in so many species is evident, and this is simply one example of how we humans are part of nature.

go back to school!
