Just remove the 'nice looking' aspect. Approach her and talk to her like you would any other human being. Believe it or not, she summed up whether or not she would give you the time of day the moment she saw you. When she smiles your way a couple of times, that's your cue; then it doesn't matter what kind of dandy you have for a one-liner.
Watching the women first really does matter before you approach them to save yourself the humiliation. It's not what you say, it's whether she's attacted to you in the first place.

Best thing is to not stumble over yourself.
A pretty woman doesn't want to be made to feel like she is a goddess with guys at her feet. She just wants to be treated like a normal person. She gets tired of guys being afraid of her because she is pretty.
Treat her like you would anyone else and she will appreciate you not making a big deal over her appearence.
Ask her the time, make a comment on the weather. Small talk is best. She has had enough guy sticking their feet in their mouth as they try to tell her how beautiful she is.

Make sure you are a nice looking man & a simple smile will usually work,in which the approach will feel more like gliding across shimmering ice on a cold winter day.

I dont understand why it is so intimidating to talk to someone of the opposite sex that is nice looking. Nice looking or not, they're all the same types of people. Snobs, funny, concided, boring, shy, etc. Just walk up and say Hey, single, busy or whatnot. We all love stricking up conversations with strangers and meeting new people. This isn't rocket science here.

Look her in the eye when you speak to her. Just smile. Ask her about herself. Don't stare at her body.
I guess it depends on your motives, really... so it's hard to say. If you just want to get in her pants, I guess it doesn't matter what you say or do. If you want her respect and you want to hopefully start some kind of relationship, don't expect her to hop into bed.
Absolutely don't tell her you'll call her if you don't plan on it. If you want to see her again, politely ask her if it's ok to call her sometime. Then do it. When a guy says "Ima call ya" I know we won't talk again.

Go up to her and say hi. You can also say "Excuse me, How are you doing today" then continue with small talk. Women perfer gentelmen. We don't really appreciate guys that try to use lines and comments such as " Yo Ma ! ". Good luck on your approach.

If she likes you, then it doesn't matter what you say. And if she doesn't like you then it also doesn't matter what you say. We all make up our minds about whether we are attracted to someone from their appearance in about 2 seconds flat, so before you've opened your gob the outcome is already decided.
Other than that you could always try: ''Very nice, I like, how much?'' ala Borat! :)
