At least once a week, me and my husband go out. We have always made sure we get out without them to spend some much needed quality time just the two of us.
They can take over your life if you let them, I love my kids to bits, but its still nice to get out once a week without them, and be ME instead of mum.

Recently, I've been out a few times both on my own and with my husband, but that is because we were staying with my parents for Christmas, and we had babysitters on tap! Normally, I would get away about once a month without my daughter. My husband encourages me to go shopping on my own at weekends and leave my daughter at home with him so that I get a break, but to be honest, I feel that uses up a day of the weekend when we could all be together doing something much more fun, so I rarely take him up on it. The longest amount of time that I have been away from my daughter is 6 hours. I wouldn't have it any other way!!

When they were younger a couple times a month at best. But now they are older and we go try to go out every Saturday night, doesn't always work that way but we try to. It's important to have couple time. It's important to have a break, it makes for better parents in the long run. It's important for your marriage as well. It helps, instead of growing apart you grow together.

I go swimming with my eldest at least three nights a week and then I usually take them both out either to the park or into town(train ride away) or swimming every saturday and sunday if its not raining I will take them to the park or at least get them out on there bikes and go down into town (just down the road) so that they get out in the fresh air and use up some energy and if im not taking them out I spend all my time with them at home playing games with my youngest and doing constructive things with my eldest, so I guess I take them out quite alot, and I also work 45+ hrs a week.

Have nights out together whenever you want to. A break from parenting usually makes you a better parent. Probably needed at least once a month.

ALL the time now (they're 28 & 31), but when they were growing up and I was a single mom, twice a month (besides 8-12 hour workdays)

Not even once a month. We do try and make "time together" though. Dedicated DVD nights, with popcorn and the lights down. When we do go out we tend to make the most of it :)

No very often (DS got three hours of Grandma time over the last few days - bliss!) but I make ME time everyday while he has his nap. It's a serious sanity saver.
