More than likely, your immune system is not functioning properly due to a variety of reasons.
1) you're not getting enough rest and/or sleep. You may need up to 9 hours of sleep a night.
2) eating the wrong foods- make sure you eat plenty of fruits and vegetables. I would suggest eating salads.
3) you may need a vitamin or two- try taking B-complex and WHEATGRASS- it does work! Also, take garlic pills regularly. I have used this myself and reduced the number of colds by over 50% and the duration of each cold has been reduced by at least 75%. Try it.

I swear by food and sleep. Take a multivitamin with extra vitamin C and find a good cold/flu relief medication - night nurse is brilliant for helping you sleep. Doesn't seem to send you to sleep but does stop you from waking I think. (some of my ideas below include alcohol so watch for mixing drugs with booze however)

If you can, get yourself an early night, a hot water bottle and some night nurse. Sleep without setting the alarm. Your body needs sleep to repair itself and most people are in a rush to carry on as normal when its just a cold. If you stop and allow your body a little time you may find that it just disappears.

Food: If you have the time, nothing seems to work better than home made chicken stock soup. Take the bones of a chicken, add bay leaf, onion and peppercorns plus whatever other veggies you have available. Add cold water, bring to the boil and simmer for 3 hours or so. Strain and use the stock as a drink as it is, or make soup - either clear chinese/thai style soups (loads of garlic, ginger and chilli - and also a good splosh of apple cider vinegar if you can get it) or use as a stock for other soups.

Make fresh soups using whatever veggies you have available - even frozen veg will work.

Fry some spices in a little oil, add plenty of garlic and ginger (fresh or from a jar) add veggies, cover with stock and when cooked use a hand blender to make into smooth soup. Add chilli for a great congestion beating meal!

Tomato tea works really well. Warm tomato or V8 juice with fresh garlic, ginger, chilli and a dash of cider vinegar. Sip while its hot. Another version is to add beef bouillion - or bovril to the tom juice (if you like - add a dash of vodka to this mix!)

Another remedy which is easy to do if you are at work is tea made with ginger, honey and lemon or cider vinegar (slice or grate ginger into mug, add honey to taste, squeeze of lemon/vinegar and a slice of lemon, add boiling water)

if you like whisky, get yourself off to bed as early as possible, wrap up nice and warm and take with you a hot toddy made of the following: Chunk of lemon studded with 3 cloves, grated ginger, good splosh of whisky, boiling water. I add a little cider vinegar to this as well, but I really like the sharp taste. Drink and sleep for as long as possible.

I always wrap up warm and take a hot water bottle, which I often rest on top of my head - seems to relieve the pressure on my sinuses.

A French friend of mine swears by a whole bottle of red wine and a long sleep - doesn't work for me but each to their own!

Have you tried ginger tea? It works for me. Buy them at Chinese store. Pick the granules not the one in a tea bag. Try, it might work.

take high dose vitamin C tablets everyday and take them with some sort of oily pill like cod liver oil or evening primrose oil to help with its absorption.
