I found that chewing sugarless gum, chugging water or filling up on stuff like lettuce helps a little but I could always use more strategies. Ideas?

Actually, chewing gum might make you hungrier in the long run. It's because by chewing, you're producing saliva, which you swallow. Saliva actually starts the digestive process. Since you're not actually swallowing anything other than saliva, your body gets pumped up expecting food to digest, but gets none.

Try sipping some green/herbal tea. Water with a few drops of lime juice. Also, if your craving hasn't disappeared in 15 minutes, have just a little bite of whatever you're craving. That way you won't cave into binging on it later on.

Eat nourishing food with plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables being part of it. Chew each morsel at least 32 times. This will activate signal to the brain as soon as u have had enough. Besides this change in eating style, take regular light exercises and brisk walks every day. U will be able to shed all extra weight gracefully and in a reasonable time span.
