Always feel the need to be dominant and possessive? At times, you think you've found a passive (aggressive) person, but in one aspect or another he always wants to take control in a certain arena.
Is it just a primitive instinct? Possibly a societal stress?

Michele M, COMMON SINCE, and LORI all have good answers but I will try to help clarify the reasons these actions are as they are. Primarily it is due to the Differences between Testosterone and Estrogen. Testosterone is a Powerful Chemical. In some individuals it has some to do with Social Conditioning, or how they've learned to interact and relate in Society. Women, Please try to Not take it so personally and try to not Judge Men wrongly due to the lack of understanding of the reasons for these issues. It only makes things more difficult for everyone concerned. Thank You.

Not all men are like this. But the way you say it seems as if you have a distinctive pattern going on here with always finding the same sort of men. Reevaluate what it is you want in a man and stick to what you seek. You'll learn that not all men are the same just the ones you are after

i think it is just their genetic makeup-there whole mission in life is basically to provide...and as a woman are role has always been made to serve..but now adays with the times changing ...it has become equal as to which our mission for both sexes is to prove power,to show that we are able to do whatever everyone else can do and better..causing ppl to butt heads and men to start to feel like they must take control...so basically its just all in your head...mostly primitive instinct..and more so now adays societal stress

Its wrong to say all men do that. Im sure you like to take control in certain areas too? Why do you do it?
Maybe you should look at the men you are choosing to spend time with... go for someone different perhaps.

God created them like this ..and the one's u find that r weak and the woman controls them they have lil to much sugar in their gas tank...men r created to protect the woman ,secure the woman his home his family but also the man should be respectful and some what compassionate to his mate if not maybe he just doesn't carry this luxury ...

Society has taught them to be the one who provides and takes care of everything. Its just been grounded into their head. Don't put up with it..stand your ground. Woman can do anything a man can do..even another woman!

it is most likely half instinct and half drilled into their heads. just like it was drilled into a females head to wash the laundry, smile, cook dinner, and be thankful for a man who provided for her. emotions are discouraged in men and encouraged in women. don't hold it against them, i am sure men feel women have strange behavioral patterns that make them crazy too.
