My 7 year old has had bloody noses every day. They never last longer then 5 minutes, but it's sad when my child gets one and doesn't need my help anymore because he is so use to them. I have taken him to a Nose Ear and Throat Doctor, and his nose was cartorised (sorry about the spelling) I have also taken him to 2 different pediatritions, and once to the ER when he had 4 in the same day. I don't know what may be causing this. I have tried keeping his nose moist by putting a cream in it every day that one of the doctors gave me, but even that isn't helping. We moved recently to a part of the state that has more moisture in the air, and I thought that might help, and it has actually made it worse! We are originally from a part of the state that has very dry air. I feel sorry for the little guy, he's been such a trooper with his bloody noses, I just don't think he should have to go through them forever. Any ideas??

Wow, that sounds really bad. I would have thought cardorising it would have taken care of the problem. I would go back to the ENT that did the cartorising. Perhaps there is something they missed. Has he been tested for a blood disorder? I wish there is something more I could say. My 3rd son had this problem but cartorising solved it.
Perhaps you could try the Mayo clinic? They are more knowledgable and enjoy getting to the root of the problem in difficult cases.

Okay here are some tough questions for you to think about.
1) is he under stress?
2) have they checked his blood to see what his white blood count is?
3) Does he have server allergies?
4) Is he picking the nose but not wanting to tell you?
There are lots of reasons for repeated bloody nose some are very very serious. I would suggest that he be taken in for a full blood work up and rule out any serious medical problems as soon as possible. Also being under a huge amount of stress can
cause bloody noses. Does he get along well with other children or is he extremely shy. Nerves can cause a lot if different problems from bloody noses to upset stomach-es every day. And remember when you answer the question about stress, what seems so simple to you and me isn't to a seven year ole.

I have a 4 year old who suffers from the same thing. since he was 1 he has been getting nose bleeds(sometimes 4 a day) He has had his nose cauterized 5 times and it doesn't help. According to his doctor there is nothing that you can do but not to worry because eventually they will grow out of them. I put vaseline in his nostrils and that sometimes helps. Good Luck & Hang in there.

You must feel so frustrated and helpless. I went through a stage where I was getting nose bleeds every night but it eventually stopped. I actually think it's fairly common for certain kids to get frequent nose bleeds. But still, try consulting yet a different Dr. It seems your son is sensitive to something and there has to be something out there to help him. Good Luck.

Keep looking for answers. There's nothing that I can think of that's particularly good news, but I may be wrong, so keep looking.
Now, when your son saw an ENT, was that a pediatric ENT? If not, make sure that he sees one. ANd if you do take him ot an ER agin, try to make it an ER in a children's hospital. They'll just be more prepared to deal with a child.
BTW, the word you were looking for is cauterized. That's for future reference. It's OK, you were doing your best with that one.

Talk to a doctor at a prestigious hospital, like Riley Children's Hospital in Indianapolis Indiana, or you may want to see if the government can help to answer that in any way.
Please let me know what you decide to do.

It might be the barometric pressure...(weather) I know that when I am somehwere where the humidity is extremely high my sinuses blow up and I wind up with nose bleeds. It may be that he needs a dryer atmosphere rather than a humid one where the pressure causes the siniuses to swell.
