from the moment we're born, we've begun dying. some people get a hasten process that we call disease, but basically we all have the disease called mortality. Does that mean we all give up? We can't - life cannot work like that. A 17 year old thinks he has years to live and an 80 year old thinks he has months - who is to say the 17 year old doesn't get killed by age 20 and the 80 year old lives to 100.
Take each day as a gift, live and appreciate each moment, find the beauty in every thing and everyone around you. It might not come easy...you're probably going to have to WORK for it....but will it be worth it? I think so.

Not always a disease, but sometimes a gift. We may do great things in life that we wouldn't have done had we not come down with a disease or disorder. My disorder has made me more compassionate towards others. I was on a bad path when I was young and my disorder opened my eyes to some really great things in life. I may not have seen them otherwise. Look at Michael J. Fox and all the good he is doing for others now. Do you think he had much interest in his disorder when he didn't have it? But he now makes it easier for others with his disorder by showing, hey something is wrong with my body, but I can do a lot of good thing while I am here, besides movies. He is an inspiration for many. Maybe you will be an inspiration for others in the future when you accept whatever is wrong with your body and start to "see" new things in a different light.

God's plan for our lives is much different than what the world considers of importance. If we compare ourselves with this world's idea of 'the perfect life', then we're completely off target,
I am still around even though burned severely in a fire. Sometimes I am sad because of so many new limits on my life. There is so much I can no longer do. I never wanted to feel so old so fast.
BUT....You just have to keep going.... like that cute Energizer bunny. God has a perfect plan for each of us if we'll submit. He can show you why you are still here, what your purpose is. Remember, a gold star in His eyes is not by how you match up to the world around you. Noah lived simply to build a big boat in the desert & everyone thought he was bonkers. He was in God's "perfect will". We walk by faith, not by sight. Don't look at the circumstances. He is bigger than your disease or any problem you have and you are of great value to HIM.

I'm sorry you have a disease and I'm not sure what disease you are refferring to. This means you live everyday to the fullest and enjoy your life all that you can. I'm not sure if your disease is painful or life threatning, but say a prayer and just live life like you never lived it before. Do all the things in life that you've always wanted to do. Hang in there buddy, everything will work out.

What kind of disease have you got? How old are you? Please answer as maybe I can help you. I do hope that you aren't depressed. This kind of question makes me so sad. You have a lot to live for, believe me. This world is a wonderful place to live in - look around you, you probaby have friends that you haven't thought of for years, family that who loves you and most of all you must have faith - faith in other people and friends. Hey! let's go to the park and look at the birds and the trees and most of all, other people who are so much worse off than you are.

If you mean why bother to live if you just have a disease then you should live for family and friends and anybody out there that cares about you because when you die, your killing a little peace of them and if you truly love them you wouldn't want to cause them that pain. If you don't think you have people that care for you, then live for the pure reason that you were put on this earth for a reason and even if it is the tiniest thing if you die you would not be filling out your purpose.

If you have the ability to be here on Y! Answers, that says a lot. There's people out there who can't see, or walk. Consider yourself lucky. You should be greatful for each day you are alive. You should be thankful for family and friends around you. I think things could always be worse. I think too many of us take life for granted. I'm sorry you feel this way, but you need to reevaluate your situation.

Who do you think you are? do you think your all alone? I have osteoarthritis in the severe degenerative stages, I've had surgery eight times on my spine, I have 32 screws holding me together with 32 wires holding my spine together.
I have never woke up in fifteen years without pain, I live in pain, I eat in pain. I sit and watch T.V. and twitch. My wife won't sit next to me, she says it drive her crazy, so, what's your big problem? do you think your the only one that has pain, problems. come with me sometimes to St, Marys for some of my many visits. The Seton cancer institute is there for the childrens cancer unit. You can visit the kids that won't be coming home. the ones that spent their last Christmas here. Stop your crying and get dressed, go see someone that really needs help. Help yourself by helping others.
