I am trying to add the totals of several columns at the end of a row.(example..... row one is B1 thru B5....... in B6 I want it to say the total of the previous columns.) Does anyone understand what I am trying to do? If you can help me that would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

=sum(B1:B5)

You click into the cell that you want the answer to show in eg.B6. then you enter the formula...by clicking on the AUTOSUM icon in the toolbar it is a funny looking E. Then click in B1 and drag down to B5 and then hit enter. It will add then and display the total...

You can just select any box where the 'answer' is going to appear. Select 'sum' function and highlight B1 through B6.

Function botton has f* symbol.

Type in =sum(B1:B5) I think thats what your asking

Writing it as a formula wud be quite complicated. Wat u cn do is type "=sum(" , then select all the cells whose sum u want and press enter. The formula will automatically appear in the place and job done.

Or wat u cn do is, put the sum of individual columns in a row, and put the sum of that row in the required place.

Select the range and press the "AutoSum" button in the standard toolbar.
