The apostle John repeatedly describes the Lord Jesus Christ as the only-begotten Son of God. (Joh 1:14; 3:16, 18; 1Jo 4:9) This is not in reference to his human birth or to him as just the man Jesus. As the Lo′gos, or Word, “this one was in the beginning with God,” even “before the world was.” (Joh 1:1, 2; 17:5, 24) At that time while in his prehuman state of existence, he is described as the “only-begotten Son” whom his Father sent “into the world.”—1Jo 4:9.
He is described as having “a glory such as belongs to an only-begotten son from a father,” the one residing “in the bosom position with the Father.” (Joh 1:14, 18) It is hard to think of a closer, more confidential, or more loving and tender relationship between a father and his son than this.

I'm going to explain this very simply. 1. It is not helpful to you to use your bible to learn Jewish concepts- it has been altered in too many places by the early church and most often the concept as well as the text has been changed with the end result being the delivery of a completely different message. 2. The Xian concept of Satan has *no* (and I mean absolutely none) resemblance to the Jewish version. See above. 3. Think of a prosecuting attorney. Is the attorney prosecuting of his own free will? Does the attorney judge the client? Does the attorney, in truth, necessarily think every client is guilty? No. The attorney is charged with prosecution by a higher power- in his or her case, the state. As a subject of the state, he is not there to exercises his own free will, he is there to bring balance and offer up one side of a story. The Satan has a role much like this attorney (except, of course, the attorney did get to choose law school :),- he is not there because he has fallen, or is evil, he is there to do a job and strike a balance, as are all the other attorneys. The Xian concept of the Satan- one that is evil and performs evil of his own free will- is what does not exist in Judaism. If it were as xtianity claims, then this Satan would be yet another (xian)god in addition to the Xian trinity, as angels- evil or not, fallen or not (we won't debate that part here) do not possess the powers attributed to HaSatan by Xianity. As for your added question, The spectrum of affiliations- from reform to orthodox- vary in levels of practice and observation, but the core tenets remain the same throughout- we are a people bound to a singular G-d and to that which that G-d has created. I hope this is basic enough to grasp- not because you are incapable but because the differences are so vast even though Xians are taught they are not, that I know people in your situation often struggle with having been misinformed regarding Jewish beliefs, and then when they try to understand, it is a bit hard to 'wrap your mind around'. The best thing to do is what you did- ask Jews :)

The Greek word used, μονογενη, meant "only-begotten, only-born", but also meant "unique". It is a very profound term, not everyone can claim to be God's unique and only son. Although we are all children of God, we are much different than Jesus.
"what about the one whom the Father set apart as his very own and sent into the world?" John 10:36

be·get (bĭ-gět') Pronunciation Key
tr.v. be·got (-gŏt'), be·got·ten (-gŏt'n) or be·got, be·get·ting, be·gets
1. To father; sire.
2. To cause to exist or occur; produce: Violence begets more violence.
So in other words, Jesus, as a prehuman, was sired, or directly created, by his father; hands on. Not through human sexual means, but however God, Yahweh / YHWH / Yahwah / Jehovah creates other creatures, created him.
"He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation; because by means of him all [other] things were created in the heavens and upon the earth, the things visible and the things invisible, no matter whether they are thrones or lordships or governments or authorities. All [other] things have been created through him and for him" - Colassians 1:15-16
He is the IMAGE of God. Just as you were to view in a mirror, that your IMAGE of you is a perfect reflection? This begotten son, created son, is a perfect IMAGE of his Father, Yahweh.
Jesus was directly made by the hands of Yahweh himself. He is the firstborn. And by Yahweh's direction, Jesus directly made everything else. But he is the ONLY BEGOTTEN SON OF GOD. Those who believe him to be more or less than the BEGOTTEN SON OF GOD, are the antichrist.
"Young children, it is the last hour, and, just as YOU have heard that antichrist is coming, even now there have come to be many antichrists; from which fact we gain the knowledge that it is the last hour"
"Who is the liar if it is not the one that denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, the one that denies the Father and the Son." - 1 John 2:18, 22
A person can be forgiven for this sin, as long as he prays for forgiveness, and understands that Jesus is the ONLY begotten, or created, work of God the Father, Yahweh.

Begotten means to procreate:
And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God. (Luke1:35)
The following is from Ahmed Deedat:
"In my forty years of practical experience in talking to learned Christians, not a single one has opened his mouth to hazard an explanation of the phrase "begotten not made". It had to be an American who dared to explain. He said : "It means, sired by God." "What!?" I exploded : "Sired by God?" "No, no!" he said, "I am only trying to explain the meaning, I do not believe that God really sired a son."
The sensible Christian says that the words do not literally mean what they say. Then why do you say it?"
