Start your quest for answers by reading Philip Yancey's "Disappointment With God" . Other Christian writers such as Scott Peck and Joyce Meyer also help to make sense of the bible and generally what God expects of us and why there's so much suffering around, why the good often suffer, while the trash prosper. It's ok to be angry with God, he's used to it and can see into our souls and knows how we're hurting. Why doesn't he stop pain everytime someone hurts? Why doesn't he put a stop to wars? Read up on these and other questions that I'm sure you're asking in the books above (and many other authors) and I'm sure you'll start to get the whole picture, not just your own little corner in the universe.

I can understand your frustration because we are of same 'league'. But dont ever tried to understand God's ways as we will never be at par with Him. God took your godfather away because he deserves a better place with Him and also to protect him from the hipocrisy the world has to offer after all the kind deeds he has done. I personally would love to be taken back by Him at my fullest and meaningful moment than having to face Him when I'm down in the dirt & ****!

Now, go read Dr. Heisenberg and his theories on Uncertainty.
Go read Dr. Plank and his theories on randomeness.
As for death from cancer, it's in the Genome. If we alter it, we alter the person. According to Plank and others simply observing a person changes them. Most psycholigists tend to agree.
For every action, there is some type of reaction. That's a law of the universe, but we can't predict what it will manifest into, according to God, Jesus, Plank and Heisenberg.
That's something universal. Neither Theists nor Atheists can predict doodly squat. Not with any certainty.

Everything happens for a reason. And obviously your godfather was a great man. And God most likely wanted him to be with him. I'll be praying for your family. It is impossible to understand God's ways. If my best friend hadn't commited suicide I may never have become a Christian. So in some strange way I'm thankful that God allowed me that. You can't look at the down side.
Look at the bright side. Your Godfather was blessed with 32 years of life. Although he could have died much earlier like some children. Thank God for that.

There are many factors that play into fate. Without trying to sidestep your question about God, I want to show you a broader perspective. Sometimes, what happens in our lives has nothing to do with what type of moral person we are. Sometimes spiritual curses or consequences are set in motion by our ancestors/fathers, sometimes genetic predispositions are passed down through the genes, and sometimes there is the possibility of unwittingly acquiring a health issue.
Yes, God does love us and take note of how we regard Him, but this life is just a probationary time, and when it's over we are judged for the deeds we have done in the flesh. If your uncle was as great a person as you have described, he invested his talents during his probationary time well, and he will reap his reward in his eternal life if God knows him; if he lived in obedience to God's personal Will for his life.
Be comforted.

Yeah. Kind of like a God that would come to earth preach, teach, do good things, then suffer, be tormented and tortured, then ultimately crucified all for the benefit and salvation of others. Even the disciples of this person were put in prison and/or killed. How fair is that? No one ever said that this life was going to be "gravy train." I am truly sorry about your father in law and his loved ones. But remember this...the best is yet to come !! A Christian may well have trouble in this life but not in the life to come. The life to come won't just last for a given number of years, have problems, heartache, and pain. It will last forever. It will be perfect. Perfect health, peace, freedom, love, safety, the best we can imagine and more. We need to make the best of this life as we can and a better life awaits us. It isn't over. It's just an intermission. Like I said, the best is yet to come. You will see him again!! And that time will be just fine...forever. Believe in God and you will see.

Right on. If the myth of god was that he was rational, we'd have dropped him eons ago. The only way god has survived is that we decided he must be inexplicable. Once we accept that, then god can live forever, regardless of anything that happens. It is indeed convenient and bulletproof. No more reason to think.
Sorry about your godfather and his wife. Perhaps these sad events at least helped you to see reality more clearly. Still, I'm sure that is no consolation.

Hold on, is this the SAME god who allows hundreds of thousands of innocent children to be starved, beaten and tortured every year? This magic, invisible guy up in the sky who has invented a "heaven " for us, but only humans can't get in because animals don't have souls?
Yes he DOES work in mysterious ways doesn't he!! But it's all in the bible so it must be true.

Dude
Sounds like you're angry with God for not existing - which to me seems a bit twisted. If you're convinced God doesn't exist then fine - get over it - if you believe in God then cool, hopefully your beliefs are respected by all around you - if you believe in God and believe he did this then that's pretty harsh but that's God's way, and if you believe it's a case of random chance then why bring God into it.
I'm very sorry for your loss but your point just doesn't make sense.
I hope 2007 works out well for you.

Don't waste time hating God for being the cruel, sick vile ogre he would be (like his followers - because he doesn't exist at all.
It takes courage to accept the truth about the world even if its not the most comforting thing to believe - for example - if life SEEMS unfair - what's the most likely explanation?
