Growing up white, you just hear that Malcolm X was radical and a great leader. I just now found out that he split from the Black Muslims and started his own group. I read somewhere that maybe the Black Muslims had him killed. I hate to be ignorant so I would like to further educate myself. Schools leave out way too much unless you want to know about white people.

Malcolm "X" was not a great leader. He was a criminal who advocated crimes against Whitey. I know, Blacks were being persecuted but violence only breeds more violence.

His autobiography: The Autobiography of Malcolm X : As Told to Alex Haley (Mass Market Paperback)

Unfortunately, you will get very little "facts" on him because all of the books are told from the poor persecuted black perspective. He became a Muslim because he wanted to hurt Whitey by making the statement that Christianity was "The White Mans Religion".

I did a thesis on both him and King. Neither were what they were portrayed to be.

Good luck. Be proud to be White. 99% of White people are good.

Peace be upon you
He was a radical against whites until he went to Hajj and saw the racial harmony there. People from all around the world gathering for one purpose, after that he became normal and started advocating Islam for racial harmony. His autobiography should be a good. Don't listen to pcpy. It is clear he has biases and an agenda, proud to be white, what do you think of that statement? Just find out the facts for yourself and don't let parochial views like the one pcpy possesses distract you.

What makes you think he was all that good as a leader too. There should be a book or two about him in your local library. Look in the biography section.
