In Arabic the word Muslim means one who submits. Muslims are those who willingly submit to God. Islam is defined as submission to God by obeying Him and avoiding what He has prohibited.
We believe that everything in existence is a Muslim, meaning everything submits to God in some way, shape, or form. A person may not submit his soul but the many favors that God has provided him do indeed submit. For example, one's physical heart submits to the will of God in the sense that it does what it was created to do. It does not jump out of the chest and begin to hold on a conversation rather it does what God created it to do so by this understanding it is Muslim. It submits to the will of God, it has been created to serve a specific purpose for an appointed time and will cease to exist one day. Every creation of God by this definition is Muslim with the exclusion of one thing and that is the soul. God has given the soul a choice. It can either submit to the will of God or reject it. It has been shown two paths; good, evil, up, down, left and right, etc.. A man can choose either path he wishes and he will be justly compensated.
Muslims believe that God has not created man except that he should worship Him and Him alone while not ascribing any partners to Him.
If man believes firmly that NONE has the right or authority to be worshiped except for God and God alone and that Muhammad was his final messenger and prophet to mankind and he believes this with complete knowledge, certainty, sincerity, truthfulness, love, submission, and acceptance while rejecting the worship of other Gods, he has then submitted his soul to the will of God and becomes Muslim and will enter Paradise.
