Most say homophobia is based on hate, and they would never teach their child to accept that.

I say sin is sin, and my kids will know the difference. They will be taught to love people, but hate sin. There is a difference. I can love you but hate your actions.

So, for all that think it is about hatred toward an individual, will you teach your kids Religionaphobia or Christianaphobia?

Blessings in 2007,
David

Fear is the biggest problem, true. If we stop fearing, then we will see the love come shining through!

Ah, most homophobia is based upon fear, not hate. If it was hate there would be no homosexuals left. Fear comes from past experience, whether they be truly remembered or not. I do not like homosexual's because I do in my heart believe that most are that way because they want to be. And yes I do think that (you/they) want to have tons of attention heaped upon you. Those that are truly homosexual because of genetics then I feel very sorry for them as the other 90% who are just pretending are making it very difficult for them to get a fair shake. I have five grandsons, two of them were both molested by "gay" men, one a bus-driver, the other a preschool teacher in their very young lives. Yes, they do fear homosexuals and are growing up homophobic. If you folks that are sprouting your "it's good to be gay" BS only new the pain that these two little boys went through you'd shut up and take a realistic look at what you're doing. I don't mean to be mean but I'm really sick of this "cra*".

Amen. Just make sure you teach your kids to hate the sin not the person. Both hatreds are most of the time based on fear. However a true Christian would love a homosexual and teach them it was wrong. Athiest fear that there is a higher power that control's their surroundings. I used to be Athiest. They are afraid that they don't control their own destiny. Then they put down Christians because of this fear. It's sad.
God Bless you david. Keep strong in 2007.

Well, first, homophobia is the biggest misnomer in the history of man (it's the homophobe's choice to hate, not like arachnophobia or agoraphobia). Second, Christianphobia is just a word you're making up.

Good luck teaching them kids to not hate when you hate so much.

i will teach my kids to find themselves and be who they are and teach them the golden rule...

if they wished to be something i would not want them to be i would still love them as much as before if not more for being their own person and discovering the life that was given to them!

as for the difference between homophobia and christianphobia, there is none...hate is hate plain and simple, but love is love as well. if you understand what im trying to say!?

It's wrong to hate any person (although "phobia" actually means you fear them). However, the main difference between the two at this point in time is that nobody's trying to make it illegal for Christians to marry.

I'm an atheist, I will raise my kids very openly. I will read to them from the Bible and the Quran. Simply because I believe it's important they can make their own decisions in life.

That having said, nobody tries to deny Christians their right to believe. Even "Christianaphobes" do not deny you the right to believe and visit your church. Homophobes however, are the main reason that two people who love eachtoher and cause no harm with that act of love, can't get married in countries like the USA. I'm sure you see the difference in that.

Unfortunately, most parents, deep down inside, don't want their little girl to "marry" one or their son to "become" one.

But that's only deep down inside.

We can carry this a step further, many homosexuals could care less if their adopted kids become heterosexuals, but a heterosexual parent who even adopts kids wants them to be hetro.

Huh, that is actually a pretty intelligent question.

However, I don't know that "Christianophobia" exists. I am not afraid of religion in and of itself-- I'm afraid of people who use that religion to take away what should be basic human rights in a supposedly free country: freedom of choice, freedom of religion, and the protection of these freedoms regardless of religion or lack thereof.

Homosexuals never imprisioned anyone, stoned anyone, hung anyone, or burned anyone at the stake. That is perhaps, unless they were closeted homosexuals with extreme homophobia. See below.

The difference is that homosexuals are a persecuted minority, and Christians are the majority who somehow imagine that they are somehow persecuted as well. Nobody's banning Christian weddings. Nobody's trying to pass legislation to stop Christians from marrying or adopting.

The difference is that Christians are doing the persecuting of homosexuals. It's the Christians who are preaching hatred of homosexuals.
