It is an outdoor cat, it has its own shed it gets locked up at night, so it's not roaming around. It is cruel to lock up an animal inside, so this isnt an option but thank you for that idea, its the only cat in the area.

There is a product called a "scat mat",available from Dr's.Foster and Smith.com.It's a plastic mat with an electrical current running through it.It runs by a 9 -volt battery, and the shock is mild(I tested it on myself and my cat-I bought one for my neighbors, because my cat was getting on their Jeep) You lay it across the hood of your car,and when the cat steps on it,it receives a harmless, but startling shock. It works very well, and is endorsed by The Humane Society. It costs around 60.00.You might think about purchasing one,or keeping kitty indoors.here is a link to another website where you can purchase it.

A simple solution is to keep the cat inside.
However, since it is in a carport and not in a garage, the chances that other cats in the neighborhood are doing the same are pretty high. Remember that cats like to go in the wheel wells and they tend to pee on it. So, if you turn on your a/c and you smell something funky, then you know it's cat pee.
If the neighborhood cats are doing it, then your cat is marking territory by walking over it. P.S. Invest in a garage so your heap worthy car won't become a heaping pile of you know what.

Get a squirt gun or a water squirt bottle and nail his ass a couple of times! If you get him really good, he'll think twice about it in the future. Cats REALLY hate getting wet! SHOW HIM that if he gets up there, he's going to get wet..... Let him know he's being a bad kitty.

Also, if it's a really expensive car and being damaged---put a thick covering (like a moving pallet) over it---UNTIL you can train the cat to stop. This is all you can do for now. You might give him an alternative place to jump onto....make it high, comfortable, and alluring to him.

I had a Honda NSX, in case you have seen it, it is so low on the front, the cats would stroll up from front, over the bonnet, over the windscreen, around the roof, and sit down on the rear engine bay. So each and every morning i'd have sandy (or muddy) paw prints from front to rear of my automobile. I too had no concept what to do, because of the fact the storage grew to become into crammed with sh1te additionally. i assume a automobile cover is the only way! in case you detect diverse - enable ME understand!

There are pet sprays that won't hurt the surface of you vehicle but are designed to keep pets off because they can't stand the smell or it stings when they smell the area. The sprays are pleasant to us, but not to them. Just make sure you read the label to see which ones are safe for the painted surface. P.S. Cats like to lie on the hood of a car when its warm; its so cosy. Its natural for them to find a warm place to nap. God luck.

This might not be too helpful because the car isn't in a garage... but our cats will NOT walk on tin foil.

Forget the toy water gun and squirt bottles: Turn your garden hose on it - cured my cats from doing it. Only took 2 times, too!
