depends on the type of diet you are on.
if it's reduced calorie and fat intake:
-fresh veggies with low-cal ranch dressing ( i love cucumbers, carrot sticks, and bell peppers)
-low or no-fat yogurt
-fruit
-low-cal pretzel sticks
-rick cakes (quaker company makes some awesome ones that are bite-sized called quakers-they come in 4 different flavors)
-cheese sticks (in moderation, cheese has high calorie and fat content)
-granola bars
you need to take into consideration any medical conditions you might have, and/or any medications you might be taking

Depends on what kind of diet you're on.
But if you're trying to lose weight, then snacks which are high-fiber, low fat, and low sugar are best.
Avoid processed foods, white flour, white sugar, sugar or diet sodas, salty snacks, and breads. Bad snacks are chips, cheesy puffs and crackers, granola bars, chocolate, cookies, pies, cakes, etc.
Good snacks are crunchy, filling fresh vegetables like carrots, celery, jicama, cucumbers, broccoli and cauliflower. Also try lean meats, low-fat cottage cheese, and unbuttered popcorn made in an air popper. Sprinkle a dried herb mix over the popcorn for flavor instead of salt and butter.

A high quality carb combined with a protein. It will hold you longer than either alone. Example (tablespoon peanut butter on a whole grain slice of bread. A handful of granola-the kind with almonds/peanuts and raisins. A slice or two of good quality deli turkey in half a whole grain pita) Skip junky carbs as a quick snack, like fries, candy bars, sodas..they leave you hungry again way too soon!

diet juice pops
sugar-free fudge bars - (frozen chocolate or any flaver pudding you like)
Any raw fruit except avacado
Any raw veggie
lite string cheese
nonfat yogurt
homemade smoothies with fresh fruit and nonfat yogurt
oatmeal (not instant)
whole grain toast
most cereal
You can really eat anything as long as you make sure its in proper portion and low-fat or non-fat; and remember to count calories. A good tip is to make healthy choices as convienent as possible. cut up fresh veggies like carrot sticks, celery, sweet belpeppers and broccoli and put the mixture in baggies. Place the bags in plain sight in the fridge. Get one of thoose fruit/veggie trays you get for parties..you can get the tray that holds the food at walmart. Cut up some fruit and veggies and make a tray, it will look so good you and the family will want some. I tried it with my kids and it works.

Small amounts of unsalted walnuts, almonds or pecans.
Fruit any sort is great for you but raw and without sugar.
You can use Splenda for sweetener.
I really like the Jello non-fat sugar free instant puddings made with low fat milk or skim milk. Topped with a little Cool Whip fat free topping they are great.
Sugar free Jello gelatin is great too.
