hey man, sometimes it gets tough going through these things. i'm really thankful that you're still christian and that you're keeping your faith up. don't ever lose grip of that. keep your head up and know that everything is gonna be alright. it's all in your head. god will NEVER give you more than what you can handle. trust me on that. if god has given you the obstacle or task, it's something you can overcome; don't doubt yourself. your willpower and faith will get you past it. ill definitely pray for you but keep smiling, because this is something you can handle and overcome. "I can do everything through Christ who strengthens me." Philippians 4:13

As a Christian you believe Jesus is the Son of God," Begotten not Made" the second person of the Trinity and One with the Father. God is wholly aware and wholly competent.Omniscient in all things. If that is what you believe, then, the answer is of course, yes. The Lord might be inclined to favor if you sought out competent medical assistance. By your lights, He made that as well as your condition. You know, "God helps those who help themselves." Don't wait around to be struck by Grace, get out and actively seek help. The rituals of obsessive compulsive behaviors don't ease up by themselves, they require intervention. If left to operate on your life, they only become more elaborate and consuming till there is no "life" left. Part of the Christian ethic suggests you are responsible to your Creator for what you do with this life.

Take care of your self. S

Just keep praying to Him for help and put your faith and trust in Him. As He says in His word, "Pray without ceasing". Of course, Jesus expects us to put forth some effort and take some responsibility as well. What I mean by that is that we must try and make an effort to overcome it and not expect Him to 'do all the work' - you know what I'm trying to say? Bottom line is, keep praying to God for strength and encouragement and He will help you. May God Bless you. Happy New Year!

Isaiah saw in vision the heavenly courts of Jehovah, including Jesus in his prehuman glory along with Jehovah. In 778 B.C.E., the year Judean King Uzziah died, God’s prophet Isaiah beheld a vision of Jehovah on his lofty throne. “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” asked Jehovah. Isaiah volunteered, but Jehovah warned him that his fellow Israelites would be unresponsive to his declarations. The apostle John compared the unbelieving Jews of the first century to the people of Isaiah’s day, and noted: “Isaiah said these things because he saw his glory.” Whose glory? That of Jehovah and of the prehuman Jesus alongside him in the heavenly courts. Isaiah 6:1, 8-10; John 12:37-41.

human will power is the strongest thing in the world. i know that being OCD that can sound stupid. but guess what? i am too. if you cant MAKE yourself stop, then therapy or meds is the answer. you cant have god cure all your problems if you do nothing about it. we are not mindless drones. go about it logically. think 'what would really happen if i didnt flip that switch 5 times?' start small. one thing you obsess over. a small thing. if you can stop that one small thing, you can stop two small things. then three, then four and so on. getting god to help you isnt about convincing him you're worth his time, its about doing YOUR best to fix it and praying for strength to continue.

There's no disease Jesus can't cure. Tonight, kneel down and just say, Lord Jesus you know i'm suffering but i'll do whatever your will is. I put my life and OCD into your hands and i know you'll do what is best for me.

Yes, of course He can....but can you believe it?

He has the power...He said "let there be light" and light appearred. I think He can fix you!

Mark 9 talks about this exact thing!

Bring the boy to me."

20So they brought him. When the spirit saw Jesus, it immediately threw the boy into a convulsion. He fell to the ground and rolled around, foaming at the mouth.

21Jesus asked the boy's father, "How long has he been like this?"

"From childhood," he answered. 22"It has often thrown him into fire or water to kill him. But if you can do anything, take pity on us and help us."

23" 'If you can'?" said Jesus. "Everything is possible for him who believes."

24Immediately the boy's father exclaimed, "I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!"

25When Jesus saw that a crowd was running to the scene, he rebuked the evil[a] spirit. "You deaf and mute spirit," he said, "I command you, come out of him and never enter him again."

26The spirit shrieked, convulsed him violently and came out. The boy looked so much like a corpse that many said, "He's dead." 27But Jesus took him by the hand and lifted him to his feet, and he stood up.

28After Jesus had gone indoors, his disciples asked him privately, "Why couldn't we drive it out?"

29He replied, "This kind can come out only by prayer."

Blessings in 2007,
David

I do not believe it is genetic. It is psychological in nature. I think that a combination of therapy, meditation and prayer should help. Try finding ways to relax.
