The lessons I have learned from love:
1.) If it feels to good to be true, there's about a 75-90% chance that it is.
2.) If the other person tells you that she/he will never hurt you, they will.
3.) It's okay to let the person into your world, but be very careful about letting them in completely. Wait until you know for a fact, that they are someone you really want to be with.
Moving on to the principles:
1.) Trust and honesty.
2.) Knowing my boundaries.
3.) Realizing that I'm a human and that I make mistakes.

Love teaches many lessons, sometimes they're good and sometimes they're bad. I think the biggest lesson I have from love is learning how to love and be loved. It has only made me a better person and I know if I was to leave the relationship I am in now after over 4 years, I wouldn't be leaving empty handed. I
Important principles: Without trust and communication you have nothing.

I don't think "love" teaches lessons, it's everything else that may seem like love that teaches us a lesson that hopefully brings us closer to love. For me my lessons got me to where I am, in an 8 year long committed relationship, not that longevity necessarily means succes; but if you're still happy after so many years than you must have "learned your lesson". Fidelity, sacrifice, and acceptance.

I have learned that no matter how much a couple loves eachother sometimes it's just not meant to be. Aside from love a serious relationship needs to have trust, communication, and compromise. With out it there is doubt.

trust. You have to have some form of trust, or else nothing will work. Also, as I have always said, the basis for every relationship is communication. You need to communicate, which will un turn be a basis for trust...if you think about it any fight you have will come back to how there was someone who didnt communicate something the "right" way

I think that the important things in a relationship is trust. It helps if you have similar interests, helping each other, not arguing over trivial things, giving each other their own space.

Don't expect people to act or react the way that you want them to. Do that, then you are not prone to the disappointment of things not working as you expected. Accept people for who they are and the choices that they make. If you can't, then, let it go.

Don't settle for less than you're worth or sell yourself short. If you really take your time and look for what you want you'll get it. Honesty, CHEMISTRY, stability and commitment.....I think those are important "principles" to me. :)
