Sounds like this guy is immature. He should have been glad that you told him and respected your feelings.

I hope you're joking.
Although you may have made the right decision for you, and I'm not saying you didn't, you honestly can't understand why he'd be angry? He is completely entitled to be angry. You put him into a situation where he cared for someone, then 2 months later, turned around and took it away. Of course he's going to be angry. You need to realize that it's justified, and quit acting like he has no right.
Now, again I want to make sure this is clear ... this doesn't mean you did the wrong thing. While the decision you made may be perfectly right FOR YOU, that doesn't mean the other person involved isn't afforded the right to his own feelings.
If he's dealing with that by being angry, then that's just how it is .. it's his way of adjusting. It's not immature to be angry, and it's not being "mean" to you. Leave him alone and he'll move on.

How much time did you ask for? Maybe he thinks he is being dumped. Call him and let him know you were thinking about him. Explain that you are unsure of your feelings, because you have made bad decisions before, and you are just confused. it makes it hard to think when with him, but you will stay in touch. And do so. If you think you are not ready for a relationship with him, tell him. Be honest, that is the best thing, and keep him informed.
He might be an a**h**e, and showing it, but could really like you and be confused also.

Darling................ the one thing you have to know as a woman............... is to keep your mouth shut. Don't say anything to a man unless you're absolutely sure. If you are confused, you work out those issues by yourself, come to a decision on what you want to do, then execute. Don't be all wishy washy with your decisions; men will walk all over you. If you've decided to work things out in the 5 year relationship, then you just tell the guy from the 2 month relationship "IT'S OVER". And don't feel bad; you have not invested enough time in this relationship to have a huge emotional attachment. If you decided to stay with 2 month relationship guy, then you do nothing. Just continue living. Anyway, I wish you the best of luck with this situation. Take some real time to yourself without thinking about everyone else's feelings, and just figure things out.

Hello =)
Well....
Once we perceive rejection, we are hurt, sometimes more than you can possibly know...
What you thought was a rational conversation about what you think you needed out of your relationship, was really a message of rejection to him.
Men get very mean when they're hurt. It's all part of the male ego thing. While we don't ALWAYS act this way, all of us have acted this way. Especially when you hurt us, and then don't give us our space.
You rejected him on some level of his mind, and now, when you want to act like friends, he isn't capable right away. Give him time, and he'll get over it. Then, maybe, if his ego isn't totally shattered, he'll be able to be your friend again.
You see, regardless of your past relationship, and how you feel about that, all guys think that if they were everything you needed or wanted, it wouldn't matter. Rejection of this kind is ego-shattering, to say the least.
Namaste,
--Tom

Not all men are mean, my husband is amazing. It was good of you to tell him now rather than later, but he may have just fallen for you quickly. Maybe u shouldn't cut off all ties with him, unless he's acting really childish, that's not good if he is. But if you think you could see yourself with him, then maybe talk to him and try to work something out to where u can just be close friends, without sex even, and just work your way up from there, you don't have to jump into something serious with him, but you only live once and you can't dwell on something that didn't work, you have to live your life without hesitation.

It seems you do need some time to yourself and that is that. If this new guy is behaving like a total idiot than just dump the looser and get yourself together, so that next time, when you choose to date, you actually make an informed, balanced decision, because you took the time out to figure for yourself what you want.

you didn't do anything to deserve it. it was probably good of you to tell him now, rather than lead him on when you're heart wasn't really in it. if you feel you did the right thing, then you did. if he hates you now because of it he's not even worth worrying over. have some time to yourself.

If he can't be a man and understand you don't want to rush into things then he only wanted one thing. Ask yourself do you deserve this from him? I would think not. A real man would not pressure the one he loves and should not want to damage this "fresh" relationship. Your "Prince Charming" will find you, baby just don't let this stop you from letting "Him". I'll pray for you.

If he cannot respect you need for space and time, then youa re better off to move on anyway. I am sorry he is being mean.. but his big bad boy ego is probably a bit bruised and his only way he know how to react is through spiteful meanness!

He's acting like he hates you probably because you hurt his feelings. Let him know your not looking for anyone else, and you will come back to him when you feel like it's time, if he still wants to be with you.
