You're right. The Bible doesn't specify the fruit.

You're right. The bible doesn't mention what type of fruit it was. It only mentions that it came from a tree.

Is this a very deep theological question that you've had on your mind for some time now? I would think you would have a lot more significant questions about the Bible than worrying about the contents God's orchard; but, that's just me.

Revelation 22:2 is the only place where any reference is made to the fruit on the tree of life and as to the tree of knowledge of good and evil no mention is made of what the fruit was like except it appeared good and apparently tasted good to the mouth. Genesis 3:6

not worng or mistaken - depending on the version, it will say apple or forbidden fruit. However, a lot of fruits were, in ancient times, called "apples" whether they were plums, figs, oranges, peaches or what we actually think of as apples.. Much as "corn" meant any type of grain, not just corn.

The likelyhood is that the fruit was the Fig, since that is the tree they supposedly made their coverings out of. Wouldn't it make sense they dressed themselves from the same tree they ate of?

Unfortunately we humans seem to interject things into the Bible that are not really there. I have always read they ate from the Tree of Life. I don't recall ever reading what was on the tree. I have 'heard' it be said it was an apple. What ever it was, they were not suppose to do it.(smile) May God Bless U.

You are 100% accurate. The type of fruit they ate is never mentioned. The only thing we know is that it came from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Bad and that God told them that eating from this tree would bring death to them. If they hadn't eaten it, they would probably still be alive today. Keep reading. You are doing quite well.

Well, sex has gone by a lot of different "innocent" labels over the years. Call it whatever you like, but there's only one way to procreate and "live forever." -What? You say they ate from the tree of knowledge, and not the tree of life? Sorry, but we have BOTH knowing and longevity, through our genes. And it's all due to sex and procreation. Before they tasted that "forbidden fruit," they knew nothing and didn't have kids. Afterwards, they "knew" they were naked, and went out to bear children. -Simple

What the "fruit" is doesn't matter. In a way, the forbidden fruit is wanting to do the very thing that God told them not to do. Disobeying God was the sin.

The possible answer might be a fruit that is not known to man because would god really allow a fruit that was used in the worst crime in the world. The one against God and humanity.

No it doesn't say, but I guess that kinda narrows it down a bit. We know it was a fruit from a tree. Was it a pineapple? hmmm
