i have had mid back pain for about 3 months whenever i bend sideways i get pain near my ribs and right in my mid back . When i bend a certain way with intensity i hear grinding , crunching , popping sounds . I am a 26 year old male who has gained about 10-15 lbs in the last 4 months . If it was pancreatic cancer would i be hearing these noises or would it just be pain . Also my lower back hurts when i bend over sort of like a muscle pull. Does anyone know someone who had/has pancreatic cancer that can explain the type of pain i may be feeling?

I am a pancreatic cancer of 6 years (believe it!). When I first became ill, I thought I had the flu. I was throwing up and had the diarrhea. I lost about 20 lbs. in 2 weeks (It's a good thing I was overweight). I did not go to the emergency until I ended up jaundice. The only pain I have ever experienced was the first four years after my three drastic whipple surgeries. That pain was in my stomach and lower left side of my back. The only med that works is methadone. When I first started taking it I was taking 30 mg. per day. I am now down to 5 mg. per day, but still have a lot of heath issues. I am currently 54 years old. I have ascites and just had my third hernia operation in a year. This last one, the hernia was trying to wrap around my bowels. I was just released from the hospital 1/1/2007.
I really don't think this is pancreatic cancer, but PLEASE get it checked out. It might be something just as important.

Pancreatic cancer is sometimes called a "silent disease" because early pancreatic cancer often does not cause symptoms. But, as the cancer grows, symptoms may include

Pain in the upper abdomen or upper back

Yellow skin and eyes, and dark urine from jaundice

Weakness

Loss of appetite

Nausea and vomiting

Weight loss

These symptoms are not sure signs of pancreatic cancer. An infection or other problem could also cause these symptoms. Only a doctor can diagnose the cause of a person's symptoms.

i dont think yours is such a case

It's not pancreatic cancer. After 3 months, you would be dead by now. ( My mother passed of this...)

Your kidneys & gallbladder can refer pain & are in this area, but stones don't make noises.

Makes more sense that something has been damaged in /around your spine. And after all this time; you NEED to get it checked out before things get worse !

Cancer can't make noises. Sounds like you have something out of line.
