I have booked a ticket to Kolckatta from Bangalore.I am wait listed. I want to know wheather my ticket is confirmed .

The easiest way to check this is as follows:
1. Go to www.indianrail.gov.in
2. Click on the option "Passenger/PNR status"
3. Enter your PNR number (it is printed on the top left corner of the ticket.), and it will give the status
For some reason the online PNR status check is available only after 4:30 in the evening ..

U can conform by the website www.indianrail.gov.in R by if ur mobile is bsnl just dial 12505 for railway PNR Enquiry status
Type Ur 10 digit PNR # in that it will say Ur Current Status Of Ur Ticket

Go to www.indianrail.gov.in. Select Passanger status and enter you PNR Passenger Number for Reservation (PNR) printed on left tor corner of your ticket and click check status it may take few seconds to few min depends on you internet connenction speed
Alternatively if you are in Mumbai Dial 135 / 137 if You are in Blore dial 139 if you are in TN dial 1363 for rest of India Dial 139 and act according to the IVR system requirements you will get it done

Go to indianrail.gov.in
Click Passenger/PNR Status and quote your PNR number in that. You will get your status as on that day.
