I am 19 and at a university. There is a girl I have been friends with since I was a sophomore in high school. She is not like the other girls,she would hang out with the guys and I treated her like another guy even though I had a crush on her since I met her.I knew a girl wouldn't find an overweight kid such as myself attractive, so I lost 75 pounds of weight through exercise and diet between junior and senor year.she began to say I was cute,and "flirt" with me but I would put a wall up, because I was afraid if I showed any true emotions for her she would reject me, and would lose our friendship,even though I wanted to be with her more than anything. Well she got a boyfriend in the middle of senor year,and I didn't talk to her thinking she didn't want anything to do with me. Even though she would tease me about losing the weight she would always give me attention more than anyone else, even her boyfriend.She broke up with him, but now she has a new boyfriend.Should I show my feelings?

I'm a very open person... I would let her know. Things will take their tolls from there. If she digs you back, move forward with it. From what it sounds like, she might have the same feelings for you and have the same concerns that you do. The fact that you guys are friends should make it easier for both of you to communicate how you feel.

Don't feel inadequate because you're a big guy though this is the natural tendency since we are now so pressured to be fit. And that while it is good that you are working on being healthy, always remember that it's what's you are on the inside that counts. I think you have the choice whether you want to tell the girl of your feelings seeing that she has now a new boyfriend. Regardless of the outcome, don't let anything deter you of your goals and dreams. Good luck.

Maybe she cares about you lik a brother but u can't wait till she comes. Time awaits for no one! Flirt back with her, if she seems to reject u then give it up, there are plenty of other fish in the ocean. If she flirts again, se might be interested but then maybe she's not sincere in her relationships?? This is tough! try to approach her!

I can't beileve you would lose weight (75 lbs) for the chance of a relationship with her, but won't ask her if it's possible! You really know how to keep your mouth shut. That must be how you lost the weight! You have to talk to HER...not US!

I'm a chick, and me and one of my guy friend hooked up then broke up and we are still friends. And if you liked her for that long you should of made your move by now!(jk jk) just go for it don't worrier about the out come because in your mined it's always worse!
