I just had my son's cat neutered 1 wk ago due to him urinating on his furniture. He just did it again today!! He urinated on his sofa, why just furniture and should he be doing this after I got him fixed?

Also, how to clean it up and stop him from doing it....

You waited a pee too long. Once the urine is on the furniture, it will keep going on it. You can try the enzyme killing cleaners.
Don't buy the feliway because it doesn't work and it's too expensive. It didn't work on my cat. It actually made it worse.
It will take some time for newly neutered animals for the testosterone levels to settle. There have been some instances where the vets didn't do the procedure properly and the cat continued to spray, but it is rare. In the meantime just keep a close eye on him.

Is he urinating or spraying? The way you tell the difference is if he is urinating he will squat, spraying he will lift his tail and the urine will spray out the back.
If he is indeed urinating, the fact that he is neutered won't make a difference. He will continue to urinate on anything that has his scent from before. Buy a good cleaner made for eliminating pet smells(ask at your pet store) and use a steam cleaner. If you don't own a steam cleaner, they can be rented many places for a nominal price.
If everything is clean and he is still urinating, then it may be a problem with his litter box, either he doesn't like the actual box(ie. some cats don't like the covered ones), he doesn't like the litter, or it is not clean enough for him. You should be cleaning the box at least twice a day.
In the mean time, if you catch him about to go, then spray him with some water from a squirt gun. He will begin to associate his behavior with the negative response and will stop in time.
Good luck.

you waited too long to have him fixed. His scent is already on the furniture so he knows he can go there. If you have them fixed before they start spraying you dont have this problem. The only thing to do is get something to cover up and eliminate the smell on your furniture, them watch him closely...if he raises that leg, shake a piggy bank, rattle a bag or do something that scares him then he'll realize after a few times of negative response, that he shouldnt be doing this!

Some cats will continue to mark. The testosterone doesn't drop post castration for several weeks!
To clean it up you need to make a paste of water and a clothes washing powder that has an enzyme killer in it or else he will still smell the enzymes and continue to spray on the same spot

confident, he will have energetic sperm as much as 60 days after being neutered, offering he grew to become into sexually mature while neutered. however the opportunities are somewhat low, because of the fact that whilst it is genuine a nursing mom cat can bypass into warmth, that truly isn't too uncomplicated. And he shouldn't try to difficulty her if she isn't in warmth. and you will experience that if she is going into warmth that quickly after handing over her muddle.

feliway is supposed to assist in stopping spraying and urinating in inappropriate areas (also supposed to help cats get along) I bought the diffuser at Petco. It is pricey though.

He does that to mark his teritory. Do you have another male cat around the house? He feels the need to be "leader" of the house, so he leaves his scent around, telling other cats "back off, this is my house!"
Also, to clean it up with paper towls, and Windex.
