Today me and my fiance went to the doctor and there was a prevelant sign of Echogenic Bowel.
1. I was wondering what the chances our baby will have down syndrone are?
2. Also i used to smoke marijuana alot a few years back but dont anymore, could this cause down syndrone?
3. Is down syndrone created the instant the baby is born?
4. Can blockage in the babies intestines from swallowing a little blood or placenta and other things cause down syndrone?

none of those things cause down syndrome. it's not hereditary either. it happens when the chromosomes in the babies cells don't separate properly, so it has extra chromosomes which cause problems. down syndrome occurs when the baby is still a clump of cells and growing- not when it comes out. down syndrome just happens, but people who have down syndrome are some of the nicest, sincere, honest, fun people you will meet

Just like me. Your feelings are not misplaced or anything. There is only one word to describe the ending. It is "Ridiculous" It destroys the lore, the logic, the theme, the immersion, the believability and everything else in just 10 minutes. This is not a matter of opinion. Unless you change the rest of the series entirely, this is true ! I played the series, and replayed ME2 more times than I can count. It is ridiculous that people are even supporting the ending lol. They always talk about it as whining because fans want happier endings. But if they can actually come up with a good argument as to why the ending made sense, fitted in, didn't literally throw everything out the window, etc... But they won't, because they cannot :P But be sure of one thing, it is not 'art' It is a jumbled mess that doesn't even follow the logic of basic storytelling. And it certainly was not "the team's artistic vision", simply because it is humanly impossible for the team which made the ME fiction to even think of such an ending. It obviously came about because of problems... A twitter post by one of the devs allegedly said that the lead writer and designer wrote the ending all by themselves without any team input. They probably had some last minute brainwave, and thought it was good or something. I know how you're feeling now, btw. The ME series was soooo good, so close to my heart lol. It had built up so well. The Mass Effect Universe was one of the best Science Fiction universes ever made IMO. Just try leave it behind, find new franchises. Stop trying to find out what might have happened and all... There is no alternate possibility. What you saw was the ending, and somehow, Bioware decided to put it in. It is horrible, thats it. Just stop thinking of it and arguing about it. Otherwise, it will just make you think about it all the time, and make you depressed, honestly.

Down Syndrome is a genetic mutation or abnormality. If I recall correctly it is a mutation of the trisome 21 gene.

It is not something that is caused by smoking pot or swallowing things.

The genetic "decision" of this syndrome is made when you first concieve and cells start splitting. If the cell splits abnormally, for lack of a better description, then you will have a fetus with Trisome 21, AKA Down Syndrome.

As with any genetic conditions, both parents must be carriers of the gene. If neither parent displays physical signs of Down Syndrome, the parents are carrying "recessive" genes. Two parents with a Recessive gene for Down Syndrome will have a 1 in 4 chance of having a child with Down Syndrome.

I have no idea about the Echogenic Bowl in relation to Down syndrome.

MANY people with Downsyndrome lead full and rich lives. There are various "levels" of the condition- some severely handicapped and others with mild forms. Either way, there are great therapeutic programs out there which will help you and your partner and your child with WHATEVER ailment your child has. (assuming he has one, that is!)

Speak with your phsyician/OBGYN about your concerns. You'll get more clear answers on the likelyhood of this disease based on current trends in your fetus's development. Also an amneo, if you're REALLY worried, might not be a bad investment.

This is froma website:
First of all we have come to recognize that echogenic bowel may very well be a normal anatomic variation during the second trimester. Even meconium peritonitis may spontaneously resolve and cause no problems for the newborn in the absence of an intestinal obstruction. At least 50% of fetal echogenic bowel is associated with a normal outcome at birth

Down's Syndrome is a genetic defect. It is present before a baby is born.

You should search the internet for Down's Syndrome and read about this if you are concerned.

down syndrome is hereditary... the baby will be born with it and there is nothing you can do to prevent it... and the pot you use to smoke shouldnt have that big of an effect if any to the fetus... hopefully your baby will be fine... i dont see a situation where it wouldnt be... but im not an expert... ask your doctor about it
