My girlfriend of 8 months was going through my phone and saw that I was texting my ex-girlfriend. She got upset and decided she wanted to break-up. I told my girlfriend at the start of our relationship that I still kept in contact with my ex via text or e-mail and it was strictly platonic.She's also upset that have pictures of my ex in my computer and wants me to get rid of them. Im ok with that. And now she wants me to stop being friends with my ex in order to continue our relationship.She thinks its the right thing to do. What do I do?

You find this to be acceptable behavior? If you want to be with the ex then be with the ex, if you want this current g/f be with her.
Can not have it both ways. Sounds like you are keeping communication open with the ex just in case this relationship does not work out. A big no no.
You would have no problems with your g/f keeping in contact with her ex, having pictures of him, talking with him?
Unless you have kids with the ex g/f cut it off.

First of all someone sounds "insecure" or have you given her a reason for not trusting you? Try to look at it this way, would you want her to be conversating with her ex? Would you trust her if that was the case? If it's going to ruin your new relationship then I would take her suggestions(ultimatium) and respect her wishes. Could be worse. Your girl could leave you and your ex's new man would give her the same treatment and tell her to cut it off with you. Quit while you're ahead, man.

Don't worry...this is a normal thing a girl would do! She is just jealous! If you are still friends with your ex-girlfriend...try to re-explain that to your girlfriend you have now. Maybe ask your girlfriend to talk to you about her feelings in this situation. Does your ex-girlfriend know you have been with this girl for 8 months now? If so, have your ex talk to our current girlfriend.

I think most girls would be jealous of ex's. It's kind of awkward that you would be texting to your ex so much... being friends is one thing, but keeping close ties with your ex is another. I would discuss how you feel with your current girlfriend... assure her that nothing is going to happen with your ex and that if she wants you won't even talk to her as much. If you're girlfriend cares enough she make compromises with you.

She upset coz she loves you and she is in unsafe situation, most of girls will have same reaction as your girlfriend when they meet this kind of thing. If you still want to have relationship with your ex-gf, my suggestion is to find the good way to let your girlfriend in safe place.
