It could be a low platlet count. This normally occurs after you have a virus or something. Either that or you have an iron deficency. See your dr who will get you to have a blood test. normally with a low iron count, you'll tend to get dizzy easily as well. It can be dangerous if your platlet count drops too low- and it sounds pretty low to me. You may have to get a blood transfusion if it drops below a certain count and doesn't come back up. It may need monitering. You're best to go see your doctor and getting this blood test done

If you are young, you may want to have a doctor check you out to be on the safe side. Some diseases, such as clotting disorders, types of cancer, cirrhosis, and types of malnutrition can cause you to bruise easily. If you are over forty, or if you are extremely thin, you will bruise more easily because you have less fat under your skin. This makes your skin thinner and more flexible, and blood vessels will break more easily. In addition, sun damage can contribute to the problem. Good luck!

The tendency to bruise easily increases with age. Despite appearances, these bruises are usually nothing to worry about.
Anemia seems a likely culprit, moreso if you've been dieting. Cutting down on red meat is a good way to slice out a major source of iron.
Low potassium will do it, as well. Supplements can be tricky, but you can get lots of potassium from bananas.

There are so many things that it "could be" that you would be best to get it checked if it doesnt clear up in a week or so.
That sounds like an eicosinoid problem - in any case, whatever the problem is could be determined with a simple blood test. Go see someone if you can.

This is a question you should be asking a Doctor, and I would not put this off.
There are many possible causes for this and you really need to have a good work up, have your blood tested etc.
Make an appointment for a physical. It could save your life or add years to it.
Don't wait.

There is a blood disorder that runs in my family called "Von Willebrandts syndrome" that causes easy bruising and usually manifests itself in the teen years. It's not dangerous, though.

Not enough vitamin K and a clogged digestive tract... meaning your not absorbing your nutrition. Try an internal cleanse/ colon cleanse. I like Dr. Natura's Colonix and ToxinOut together you'll find it at Dr. Natura's site.
