I think vertical labrets on women is one of the most beautiful piercings a woman can get. I say go for it!! Who cares what other people think, if you like it, that is the only thing that matters.

I think the only problem I have with it is if the piercer does it crooked. Then you can't exactly call it a vertical labret.

I'm a girl, i have my lip pierced on the left side, and I've seen about two girls so far that have a vertical labret, and they don't seem to mind. They both had boyfriends, so I'm sure there are people out there that appreciate verticle labrets on a girl.

My dad joked to my boyfriend that it was an anti-kissing device, and though it was a joke, my BF still got hurt and didn't talk to me for days.

a labret piercing is on the chin under the center of the lip. I don't know what you mean by vertical but I think if you have the right jewelry for your face in it and not something huge, totally nasty looking it can be really cute and sometimes not even noticeable unless you really look.

I think it's one of the hottest piercings in the world. If I was a year younger and in a place with more experienced piercers, I'd have had it done by now.

Shop around for your piercer with this one. I hear it's up there with surface piercings when it comes to regection. Curved barbell, 16 or 14ga, small beads. Follow you aftercare instructions, though, otherwise it can be ripped easy, easy like cake.

I think it works if you have nice lips, but if you have thin lips it looks a little funny. My hubby got his labret pierced and I love it, he loves it. I was a lip piercing on the side of the my lip instead of in the middle but i am sure I will chew on it. I am going to get something pierced, SOON!

I would say No...don't get it done. However, I think saying no, can sometimes make us want it more. You like it, try it, you can also take it out!
However, my husband got a labret piercing, hurt like heck, liked it, but didn't have it long enough to scar. Have Fun! =o)

It will reject, but with good care expect it to last for at least a year. If it begins to reject you will want to go back to the piercer and have it removed. The scar it will leave will not be something you want on your face. Make sure they are doing this with a dermal punch. If not find another place. Good luck, and as I tell everyone, NO SMOKING WITH ANY FACIAL PIERCINGS!!!

They are hot. But (isn't there always a but?!) they extremely bad for your teeth and gums. Have you thought about a lip piercing in the center? It has a similiar effect, but doesn't damage your mouth nearly as badly. I had my lip done (I'm a female) and it was incredibly sexy.

i think you should go for it if you want it.
different piercings look really different on different people, so you should make sure it looks good with your face shape and features. if it doesnt, you can always take it out. there will probably be a bit of scarring for a while though.
