i plan to buy a siamese cat. but i currently have a japanese spitz dog. i'm afraid they'll fight. would anyone know if the two can cohabit peacefully?

Honestly, it just depends on their individual personality. My dog got introduced to cats when he was a puppy, so he has no problem with cats.

It is not so much a matter of the breed. We successfully introduced grown cats to dogs but there is no guarantee that it will work. It depends on the personality of the animals in question. You will find a lot of useful ressources on the web. Test your dog with other cats before.

It actually does depend on the individual personalities of the animals...but regardless of their ethnic background or origin of breed we are still talking about a dog and a cat...for the most part they are probably not going to live as harmonously as the song "Ebony and Ivory". : ) However, they could be like most siblings...a little silly play fighting but true sibling loyalty when it comes to any outsiders...
