hello! I love naming puppies! My dog use to have brown ears, but it wore off. I named her Amber, cause the ears were sorta amberish. :) You can call him browny. I like to let the dog pick out the name. Maybe spots? spotty. my little cutie poo! haha! good luck!

I personally favor words oppose to people names for pets. I have 3 dogs there names are Laker, Furious, and Scrappy. Being that he is shy I would name him Courage. My pug Scrappy is a big sissy so I often wish I had named him that, but my son chose his name. Hope I was some help!

i just got a puppy too. She is an Italian greyhound. When we got her to the house all she did was zoom around the house. She is gorgeous and super hyper. We ended up calling her Zumi.
Think of some of his likes and some of the funny things he does.
I should have named our puppy Odie because my fat cat likes to beat her up, but Zumi is better. lol
you can call him chewie, hershey, logan, simon, zippy, or anything you'd like. Just be happy with it. The dog won't complain about it.

I was in the same situation and we called him Puppy for a few days....just didn't seem right to change it and it seems to fit him. (Although one day he will be a really big black lab!) I didn't want the same names that every once else calls their dogs and nothing seemed to fit him. So PUPPY is his name...he also answers to 'Pup Pup'.

It's not a great idea to name your dog anything that ends with something that sounds like "no" because it can cause confusion. Here are some sites I've used. Good luck!

When I name pets I take about a week and make a list of all my favorite names. then narrow it to about 10. Next I call each name out to the animal. He will react to the one he likes. I swear it works every time!!! My chinchilla started to hop all around when i called out "Miko!" My dog instantly ran to me when I called "Murphy "from a list of names. Try it, you will see the animal react to his favorite name on the list!!

Make a list of names you like and then watch him as he plays and interacts with you. His facial expressions, his cute mannerisms, will all be a clue to you which name on your list he suits. Then try it out; just say it out loud and see how it sounds while you're watching him.

do you have a favorite show or singer??
My one dog is named Xena (like the warrior princess) and I have a freind whose dog is named after Bob Marley, but his name is Marley Asinbob Lastname, So if you like a favorite basketball palyer you could name him Jordan asinmike sweatpea. I just think you should have fun with it, no matter what you do.
