Yeah... a paternity test. Did you sign the birth certificate? If you did you will have to obtain a lawyer to get the paternity test. If not it will cost btw $300-$500.......Or you can go on Maury and get it for free :) Good Luck!

First off, why are you waiting 8 years to ask this question? Shouldnt you have thought of this before you started paying support? They have a scientific means to test this, its called dna. Have the child tested. Then you will know. If it is yours, you can go to court and get a court order for visitation.
Hey, I have 3 kids I think might be yours, I need supported too.

Yes, DNA testing. If she told you that this child was yours but you didn't think it was, why didn't you question this long ago?? Why wait for 8 years to finally ask the question about it?? I would think, if you had doubts about this being your kid, that you would have confronted her about it back when the kid was a baby and gone to a dr or looked for a lawyer or somebody to talk to about this ... No sense in paying child support for a kid you can't see and don't know if it's even really yours now is there???

Good luck

Petition the courts for a paternity test. If you are paying child support through state or local offices, they can require the mother to allow the test.

Yes, you need to get a paternity test - this is a blood test - and the results will show if you are the child's father or not. If you are indeed the dad and are supporting him, then you need to be allowed contact with him. You will probably have to get a lawyer and go to court to get a judge's ruling to enforce your rights.

Stop paying the child support. That will get her attention. Take or mail the kid clothes (keep receipts). If she demands more money, just tell her she needs to pay for a paternity test to prove you're the father...otherwise, you are not. She must prove you are the father if she wants your money. You don't have to prove anything. But you must submit to the test if she pays for it.

Petition the courts for a DNA test. They test her the child, and you. That will tell if you are the dad or not. Don't let her get away with it. Too many men are paying for children that are not theirs, and the real fathers are getting away with it. Good luck and God bless you in your endeavors.

You should take up a DNA test and take legal proceedings. You may also get legal custody of the child and the mother be penalised for not giving you access to see the child.

yes, it is called a simple blood test. You should have had that done before you started paying child support. It is better late than never, you are more than likely going to have to get a lawyer, so expect that it is going to cost.

That is why the Lord, in his infinite wisdom gave us lawyers and D.N.A tests. if she is collecting child support you have a right to establish paternity (as in if you are the true biological father of the child and not, say the black drug dealer down the street).
Good luck
