Ahh reading Zora Neal Hurston?

Internal conflict is exactly as it sounds. Having a conflict of interests within oneself. A personal dilemma- wanting to do one thing that is in conflict with another need or desire that you have.

In your case, Janie wants to leave with Tea Cake, but she has reservations.

As far as I have read them, there are no conflict in Janie, as Janie is going all the way with Tea Cake, which in its words... Janie agreed with Tea Cake all the way.
