Not a good idea! Can you imagine what will happen if she starts barking and doesn't stop? The neighbors call the police...she gets taken away...or worse yet - she manages to escape somehow and gets lost or hurt.
What kind of door leads to your backyard? Have you thought about having a doggy door and blocking off whatever room is attached so she can come in and out as she needs to? And have a neighbor check in on her for walks and food. Kennels are a thought but they really need to be checked out!!

No....no.....and no. Anybody could come into the yard and take your dog....not to mention other animals. Have her stay in a kennel where she can be monitored daily and she will be secure. She is too small of a dog to be left outside like that.
Dogs that have been bred into these teeny tiny little things were not meant to live outside....I'm tired of hearing people say that these domesticated animals are meant to live outdoors. A small dog like a Maltese is not bred for that. They are bred to be lap dogs and that is what your dog should be.

I don't think I would...but I'm a sucker for dogs...I have a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and I know he wouldn't be able to make it w/o wimpering. He just gets sad when we leave him alone for a while...it's quite sad!:( I guess it just depends on where you live...is it warm enough at night...it's not right now where I live...(in Iowa). If it gets too cold...your dog might freeze....and the food situation...water might freeze...I realize it might thaw out the next day depending on how warm it is...but maybe not! What if your dog accidentally dumps it's food? Will your dog have shelter thoughout the day/night in case it might rain, snow, or even be windy!...if your dog is not use to being outside at night I just suggest that you take him/her to your local kennel (usually at a vet clinic). I'm guessing your dog would not like it too much if she is use to being in a warm house at night...your neighbors might even get upset if your dog is loud at night...from barking! I guess it also depends on the age of your dog...have you had her very long...just a puppy...she will wimper I'm sure at least for the first night...an older dog...I wouldn't consider it...especially since it's never been left outside at night. You may want to consider trying it for night or two before you leave to see how your dog does on it's own outside!....Sorry...if I might of made it worse for you to make a choice, but I thought I better make sure you consider everything! Good Luck!

If she isn't used to the outside at night she may get sick. At night it gets colder and you don't know if it will rain or snow. and that will be even worse. she is used to the warmth of you home at night. and wouldn't be able to adjust to the cold at night outside.
I would get someone to take care of her for the 2 days that you are gone we always got someone to feed and walk our dog. someone you trust. they can watch her at your house (come over and take her out and feed her) Or take her to there house and take care of her. I always gave them the food, and any toys and treats she may need. also her dog dishes, that way she knows that it is her stuff and won't be so scared in unfamiliar surroundings. And I always paid them a few $ for taking care of them.
Or you can take her to a dog kennel but a warning she will be in a cage most of the time and she will smell like a kennel. We did that one time to one of our dogs and never did it again. It was so gross we had to bath her when we got home.
Or take her with you. Depending were you are going most of the time hotels will let you have your pet there look for the ones that are pet friendly, or if it is a Friends house they won't mind most of the time, just ask. I hope this helps some. Good luck.

See if you can get your neighbours to come over and feed her, give her fresh water and talk her for a walk.
Try a boarding kennel they're really good and the good ones have sheltered beds.
Don't leave her home alone by herself without food :(

I think she should be fine, just make sure that she'll be warm and protected from the elements. For food you could leave an extra big bowl or get one of those food dispensers. When we go out of town our neighbors come over and give our dog food, maybe you could work something out like that? Best wishes!

I would say no it's not okay. Maltese are very small and you never know what the weather or other people will do. In my area some small dogs have been stolen out of people's yards recently.

I would ask a family member or a neighbor to watch out for your dog. You can never tell what could happen if he stayed outside for 2 days. OR you can bring him/her to a boarding facility, so that he/she can be monitored.

Yes it is ok.. dogs were meant to live outside. just make sure it will have food, water, and shelter for those days. Have someone come to check on it too. your dog will love staying outside, she might be lonely, but she isn't use to sleeping outside. It might be a good idea to get her used to it.
