Since I do not know each of you, I can not judge what is the worst that can happen. But, i am sure you will find out when you make that move, she will like it or she want. Which ever it is, if you love her, respect that.

Please have a mint in your mouth. Bad breath or a wet sloppy kiss will kill the mood. Take your time while the two of you try to find your rhythm. Please! Don't ram your tongue into her mouth. It all depends on how your girlfriend feels about it. If she is uncomfortable she will probably push you away and let you know, but if shes not we probably get into it. Let me give you some advice if it goes further, please make sure you all are PROTECTED.
