By steroids you means anabolic steroids. Anabolic steroids are androgenic and therefore produce androgenic effects in the body. Androgens stimulate myogenesis which is the formation of muscular tissue. Androgens are known to cause hypertrophy of both types (I and II) of muscle fibers however the mechanism of this is not completely understood and there are a few accepted mechanisms through which this may occur. It's widely understood that high doses of testosterone in men promotes nitrogen density and increases fat free mass (muscle mass) while at the same time decreasing fat, particularly abdominal fat. The increase in muscle mass is mostly skeletal muscle increases and are likely caused by an increase in the synthesis of muscle proteins or possibly a decline in the breakdown in muscle proteins.

There are many "pre-steroid" type products sold as food supplements. Some work, some don't. Best bet, high protein/low fat diet and exercise, exercise, exercise. There's a reason steroids are a schedule III controlled substance. Beware!

That depends on the steroid. There are actually two main types of them, the corticosteroids and the adrenosteriods. Be really, really careful around them, because they are powerful hormones with huge side effects.

The corticosteroids are steroids like prednisone and cortisone, used primarily for their anti-inflammatory effects. They block the work of the prostaglandins and so ease allergic and inflammation (redness, swelling, arthritis) responses.

They also block the work of white blood cells, and so lower our immune response, making us more susceptible to disease.

The adrenosteroids are probably the ones you're most interested in, especially testosterone. That's the one that athletes take to increase their sport performance. It, too, is a hormone and thus has powerful side effects. It can damage the liver and/or the heart (and anything you only have one of you really should take care of), and it can spark really big, out-of-control rages, where someone gets hurt.

Can you achieve that strength naturally? Not really. You can come close, you can do really, really well, but it's hard to achieve the same effect you can get from a concentrated, unnatural level of anything. Still, you can't fool all of the people all of the time, and though you may become really strong using steroids, you will get caught (Mark McGwire, anyone?), and once you come off them, you will go back to your natural self.

Which is not a bad thing. Why be noticed for something which is a fake, and a damaging one at that, one that will shorten your lifespan? Wouldn't you rather be noticed for what you really are? Other people would rather you be honest with them. If you used steroids and they found out, they'd feel betrayed, and they'd be right. You would have cheated, and fooled them into believing your cheat. That's a con game, and you know how people feel after finding out that they've been conned.

Steroid use can only go on for a short time because it's really very dangerous. Don't start. Be disciplined instead. You'll have a lot more respect if you do.

ok lets try staying away from the rediculous answers. i have taken them and studied a lot about them. most steriods dont actually have testosterone in them but instead have a chemical that increases the amount of testosterone that is made normally by your body. the test increases the speed and amount that your muscles rebuild after being torn down. this is the reason people us them. as for the "rage and boobs" that people get? rage only increases in men who normally have a temper due to the fact that testosterone is the cause of most of our "manly" aspects. and the boobs part only occurs if you are stupid and dont take some type of hcdg after getting off of a cycle. and it only happens if you are taking steroids that actually have testosterone in them. this is because your body actually stops trying to make test since you already have so much. when you get off the roids then your body still takes a while to adjust and start making more but it continues to make estrogen so, a small amount of growth can occur, this can be prevented with the hcdg because it gradually lowers the test that is being pumped in so your body can adjust. and as far as gaining the muscle naturally yes it is very possible, it is just much slower and tedious. you have to work a lot harder. by the way, if planning on taking roids make sure you work out cuz if you dont you will look terrible.

You can acheive that strength (although not to the extreme level that roids cause) by using whey protein. They also have a legal "steroid" out, but I do not remember what it is called. Obviously, it will not provide the same results as the illegal kinds.

I think its the testosterone in steroids that makes you stronger, it makes your muscles bigger or something like that....you can become as strong naturally

Stay away from the steroids. I have seen "roide rage" and its not nice. Keep it natural, drink protien shakes, eat healthy, lots of fruit. lots of water and you will be better off. Plus I hear roides shrink your testicles and you grow boobs
