Try not to drink water fo half a day. What'll happen?!You'll feel to drink water (much). This is how our brain works.Unless you feel that your studies are important, you cannot concentrate. So its clear that you have something in you which you consider is lot more important than your studies.all you have to do is:
1) Find it out.(the one which distracts you)
2) Push it to the second place.(don't bother it.You are allowing something to rule you by thinking of it always.Don't do that.)
3) Give your studies much importance.(have this in mind ,an artist sees all things around him in an artistic manner.Likewise the musician hears every sound as music. You have to do the same.)

If its useful for you i'll be happy.

Start working on your studies without using the computer - or, if you have to do some writing, stay in your word processor program. Then, after as much of the work is done without the Internet as possible, "treat" yourself to completion of your work on the Internet.

You are not alone in getting distracted by the Internet - it is just so easy to see something that interests you, and away you go to another site, which leads to another site, which leads to another site . . . . .!

Having a routine and a regular place to study is a good start in developing strong study skills. Some people study more effectively in the morning, others at night. Discover your best time and develop a schedule that allows for your peak study time.

Lack of organization is the main cause of low academic performance. With multiple teachers to answer to and different class schedules and assignments to track, unorganized students find themselves quickly falling behind in their studies.

Keep a separate notebook for each class. The type of notebook will depend on the teacher and the assignments. Color-code classes if necessary.

Keep good notes. Class notes, assignments, tape recordings (if the teacher allows it), and personal reminders help you keep up and not be surprised by that Friday quiz.

Pens, pencils, computer ink, and other supplies should be on hand and convenient to your study area. Keep your desk or table clear of extraneous materials.

Backpacks keep everything together and available. Make sure you routinely check the supplies in your backpack or organizer bag if you're often on the road or in different locations to study.

Some students find they do their best work by studying in the library.

It all depends on where you feel best at studying. I believe that all the little items that people have on their table easily distracts them. Items such as keychains and souveniers are very distracting. I also hate having my table face the wall, but instead have it facing the window where I can look outside every now and then. Studying in pure silence with the door closed also works best for me. Sometimes since there are so many items on the table, I enjoy studying at Starbucks where there's less to annoy me. It is best to study on a plain table where all you have is a pencil and eraser.

Good luck

You don't actually say what distracts you (or are you just procrastinating? *grin*) Here are a few things that I've found useful:
I've tried setting myself time limits and also rewarding myself when I complete a task! Brain gym exercises are also beneficial as is playing classical music (especially Mozart) and drinking plenty of water while studying.
Good time management helps too - setting aside certain periods of time and sticking to it!
Good luck with your study.

Put a mirror near where you are working. When you see yourself as the person improving, you'll think more on studying and working.

Don't study near a computer, the internet will just suck your time away.

Promise yourself a 10-15 minute break every hour - but only if you're good and apply yourself for that whole hour!
