dogs respond well to names with a high pitch sound in them, in other words: the vowels a & e. the easiest place for the e sounds to go is the end of the name... examples:
Anthony
Zachary
Fluffy
Sleepy
Beefy
a little hard to do with the a sound, easier just to put that sound in the middle... example:
Jake
Jason
Chase
hope that helps you, a good way to help your puppy learn its new name is to stress the vowel in its name when you call it. dogs have a really acute sense of hearring and your puppy will respond to your call if it easy for your puppy to recognize the name you give it.

It's not a great idea to name your dog anything that ends with something that sounds like "no" because it can cause confusion. Here are some sites I've used. Good luck!

Many people name their pets after tv characters...colors...attitude...size or you can choose something that is completely opposite! (like a name usually for a big dog) Also, he's sleeping a lot now because he's still a baby - give him a few weeks to turn your life upside down!

There are web sites that specialize in dog names but I think you should make it unique. Just observe his personnality and you might be able to get a name friom that. Good Luck.

How about something a little more original than "Bear" but still the same idea? How about "Grizz"? I love that name and if you want to add a middle name...call him "Grizz Lee". I love it! : ) Have fun with your new little guy...whatever his name is! : )
