If you are in public or at work-- seriously- go to the ladies room and in a stall- sit down and slowly count to 10 and be very aware of taking deep breaths and deep breaths out--- it really sounds corny but I suffer from panic attacks and this really works and helps with stress- when at home- find "comforting foods and scenarios"= for you it may be a good book in quiet, others a hot bath, others hot shower, some like a peaceful nap or just lying on the bed in total silence-- whatever works for you

1. Try deep breathing for a few minutes. Inhale deeply through the nose and exhale through the mouth.
2. Take a break! Stop whatever it is you are doing and go get some fresh air.
3. Pet a dog or cat if u have one.
4. Exercise. Even a brisk walk will help
