So that if you become ill, they (the hospital, doctors, etc) will not come after you and take your home, your assets, your bank accounts, your cars. Just a simple operation like a tonsillectomy can cause as much as $10,000, so God forbid, what would cancer cost? and don't even get started about the costs of medicines.

Health insurance will help pay for any type of doctor or hospital bills. Put it this way...2 months ago, I went to get some blood drawn for allergy testing. They took 4 tubes of blood and ran several tests on them...with my health insurance, it only cost me $35. Several weeks later, I received an itemized bill from my insurance company, explaining what had been done, and how much they paid for it. If I didn't have health insurance, I would have had to pay over $900 for people to test my blood.

well, keeps you from paying an arm and a leg when you o need to go to th doctors. i cut my leg and did not have health insurance so i had to pay like 3000. with health insurance i would have paid alot less since most of it would have been covered by the insurence company. it depends on you, it is like a safty if you dont get sick or hurt often you can choose to not have it but if your a risk taker i would go with helth insurence.
