There is no way to get rid of a cold over night. The virus that causes colds simply lasts longer than that. Sorry. :-(

There is absolutely no best way to treat a cold overnight. I sing and as soon as I get a cold I can barely sing for my nose is blocked and my throat is stinging, therefore getting sick is really bad for me, so i always have to try and get rid of it really quickly. There are heaps of treatments which i do that make it go faster such as:
Take horseradish and garlic tablets
Drinking like 20 glasses of water to clear your nose
sleep for about 14 hours whether you are tired or not
Use Rhinocourt nasal spray, It clears your nose so good (I use it when I need to sing while I'm sick.)
Eat a lot of oranges
Drink lemon tea (hot water, honey, and lemon)
Put your head over a steamy bowl of water and put a towel over your head
Eat vitamin c tablets too

Drink hot water with lemon in it.

Eat chicken soup or chicken broth.

Steam bath - sit on the outer edge of the tub while you run super hot water in the shower. That will go a long way toward clearing your sinuses.

Peace!

I use echinacea twice a day when I get a cold and it always helps me get over the cold faster and have a milder cold than if I don't use the echinacea.

Lots of vitamin C, zinc, rest, and hot liquids. Tea or soup is usually a winner.
