Races took on distinct characteristics over tens of thousands of years depending on where they migrated to and what the weather was, and what characteristics genetically 'fit' into the environment stuck with the certain gene pools which stayed in the same region over thousands of years.
Now, how do you explain it? and don't you think extreme differences in physical characteristics didn't take very long to form? How does that make sense to you? That you don't see much difference between Aborigines and pale skin, white blond hair and light blue eyes?
How can they possibly think that those physical characteristics took shape in such a short period of time since no other races have been formed since? Is this yet another leap of faith?
And don't even dish out your bullcrap about 'there is no such thing as race' since everyone on earth can see the dramatic physical differences between certain groups as a whole (as meantioned above).Scientifically there are also different skull types.

Tower of Babel probably. This when the Continents were formed/divided/separated which many Thousands of years later Science seemed to miraculously figure out, when the Bible told it so long ago. Kinda like people believing the world was flat when the Bible told all along it was Round.

According to the Bible, all people today descended from the survivors of a great Flood - Noah's family, who in turn descended from Adam and Eve (Gen 1:11). There are many stories, from many parts of the world, of a great Flood that only several people survived to repopulate the earth.
But today we have many different groups, often called "races" with what seem to be greatly differing features. The most obvious of these is skin color. Some see this as a reason to doubt the Bible's record of history. They believe that the various groups could have arisen only by evolving separately over tens of thousands of years. However, this does not follow from the evidence.
The Bible tells us how the population that descended from Noah's family had one language and were living together and disobeying God's command to "fill the earth" (Gen 9:1, 11:4). God confused their language, causing a break-up of the population into smaller groups, which scattered over the earth (Gen. 11:8-9). Modern genetics shows how, following such a break-up of a population, variations in skin color, for example, can develop in only a few generations. And there is good evidence to show that the various groups of people we have today have NOT been separated for huge periods of time.
One could say there is really only one race - the human race. The Bible teaches us that God has "made from one blood all nations of men" (Acts 17:26. Scripture distinguishes people by tribal or national groupings, not by skin color or physical features. Clearly, though, there are groups of people who have certain features (e.g.skin color) in common, which distinguish them from other groups. We prefer to call these "people groups" rather than "races," to avoid the evolutionary and racist connotations that have become associated with the word "race."
All peoples can intermarry and produce fertile offspring. This shows that the biological differences between the "races" are not great. In fact, the DNA differences are trivial. The DNA of any two people in the world would typically differ by just 0.2%. Of this, only 6% can be linked to racial categories; the rest is "withinrace" variation.
This genetic unity means, for instance, that white Americans, although ostensibly far removed from black Americans in phenotype, can sometimes be better tissue matches for them than other black Americans.

Actually, I'm no creationist, (thank *uck) but I know that scientists don't really believe in different races, since we are all so closely related. Every human's DNA traces them back to Africa, where Adam and Eve did not come from.
Northern Europeans developed fairer skin and eyes to absorb sunlight, asians also developed in a different way to absorb sunlight, with straight black hair to absorb the sun, and slanted eyes to protect them in the harsher cold climates. Darker skinned people obviously evolved to have protection from sunlight and frizzy hair to keep cool. And we are all very closely related to other primates, as I'm sure you already know. Any idiot doesn't need the scientific proof to see our likeness. The tragedy, for me, is that more humans are being born than all the great apes together. We're so *ucking fecund.

Did you know you have a black persons genes? And an Asians? I cannot fully explain genetics to you, but I will tell you that that we all have the same information in our DNA, just arranged differently. It is like tetris, the same game but a different pattern every time. It is hard to explain really...but this is how I can try to say it. Do some reading on genetics and DNA, Im tired and Im going to bed...

The same way you breed dogs or horses. Isolated populations interbred and developed various traits. Nothing new here. People have been doing this for years with animals.

Incidentally, it did not take thousands of years. It only took a few generations. Talk to any breeder of animals.

You shouldn't try to talk science to creationists. It's a waste of time.

I recall a video I saw from 1961 or so. Some white southern baptist, protesting school integration, said that black people had the "mark of cain."

I doubt that view is in Christian vogue anymore.

Creationists believe that different races came about the same way that Evolutionists do. They just think it happened quicker.
