Why should one's inner convictions about the existence of "God" indicate that such a being exists outside of the believer's own mind? if we can rely on subjective "intuitions" about god, why can't we rely on subjective intuitions about other theories?
& if we did do it it that way, then where would that take us? Back to the dark ages now wouldn't it?

I must say that in a way you are very much correct, but on many other levels you are wrong....

I don't think it would take us back, but it would allow us to question something as much as we question God, what is wrong with asking questions?

Why is it so hard to believe that God Is? My "inner conviction"? Hmmmm. So, you want to call it a guess. Ok, so, in other theories you say that subjective intuitions are not utilized. What about the theories like Big Bang or Evolution? Same thing! Someone has an "intuition" and presents it as a theory, adds "evidence" and voila! Then its presented as fact. How is this different? Both these theories (Big Bang and Evolution) are still just theories, hunches, guesses. Difference to me is that neither disproves the existance of God. Evidence to support the existance of God is massive. The weight of physical evidence is staggering. Only within the realm of mental illness can one even approach the possibility that God does not exist. This is not a theory. This is well know fact accepted by billions of people all over the world and throughout history. If you have evidence to the contrary, please publish it. I am sure there is a scientific journal willing to make it known to the rest of us. Otherwise, your "inner conviction" that there is no God carries no weight at all with me or any believer. There is not a shred of evidence that proves that God does not exist. The Universe itself is Proof exact that the Creator does exist. It is a simple logical extrapolation, not a guess. It is simple and direct. Everything that "Is" was made. In any other context you would accept this as reasonable. Someone made the clothes you wear, someone built the house you live in, the watch you wear (if you wear one but you get my point). So, the planet we live on was made. And the Universe which ticks like a fine watch must have been made. Atheists say otherwise. I say, atheists need to prove it then. But when I ask them to, they say they can't prove it. So, I will not only believe that there is a God, but I also choose to believe IN Him as He believes in me and has healed me.
Using a belief in God to justify voilence would send us back to the dark ages (so to speak). God is Love but mankind has a tendency towards selfishness which leads to divisions leading to war. It is part of the choice we were given. So, people who believe that God is Evil are also deceived. There is another being involved then, Lucifer, the deceiver who divides and spreads lies and hatred. What choice will you make?

Where do your inner convictions come from?

They are not subjective . . . there is right and wrong. Good and evil. Did this . .. . . . what I call a conscience . . .. . . EVOLVE? Did a monkey feel bad one day and the next so now humans have a inner conviction? See when you use the word GOD people refer to fanaticism or crazy people who are never going to take medicine b/c God will heal me types.

Yes I believe God will heal me but no where does it say to be stupid either.

If you rely on other intuitions .. . . . . . where do they come from?

Explain intuition.

You were intelligently designed, created in his own image, given these things by a omnipotent power. God is that power for me. Other theories are blown out the water when you read with an open mind the book he divinely inspired. When you pray to the son of God who gave his LIFE, no not his house or car, his own LIFE, so that you might go to heaven and all you have to do is believe in him.

Its hard to accept someone or something would do that for you. He loves us that much.

God Bless

Not necessarily. Many theories in many fields start with a hunch, a sense, an intuition. I have myself been saved by my own intuition in the face of a very angry expert's opinion and advice. I think at this stage in our existence, thinking with our feelings is getting to be an ever smarter thing to do.

Peace!

Intuition is more than you think. Many serious scientist first listen to their intuition than go on to do the hard core science to support what they have discovered through intuition.
