Because they were raised to believe in the Bible. Because not enough people have asked them why. Because few have made the points you just made.

You must understand the context. Paul was writing about specific problems in specific churches. The Bible also says there is no difference between male and female in the Spirit. There were mighty and powerful prophetess' in the Old Testament. Merriam was always at the side of Moses as his valued adviser. Some of the key spiritual leaders of the New Testament were women. My wife is an assistant pastor and she will soon be taking over full time for my mother-in-law who is the most anointed prophetess and teacher I have ever met. The key is "in the Spirit". Men and women share equal ground in the Spirit. Again, there is no male or female in the Spirit.
Those scriptures have empowered men who do not understand them for centuries to mistakenly try to hold women back, to keep them in submission. That is not what God or Paul intended at all. Remember, the truth was written for those who will seek it out prayerfully and humbly. Read Acts Chapter 2. There were women and men gathered there that day. Women have absolute and complete equal rights in the Spirit.
Do not let those scriptures keep you from the truth in God. Take your concerns directly to God. Go boldly to the throne and ask Him for understanding and guidance. He is absolutely an equal opportunity employer!

I think that some women have been brainwashed by society. You must keep in mind that the women's movement for equality is only in the past 37 years or so. When I was a teenager women were second class citizens. Other girls in my class use to discuss if it was proper for a girl/female (you would never use the word "woman" that was a whore) to drive a car if a man was present to do so. That was in the mid 1960's. Some parts of the country still cling to these old ways. Others of us just say that those parts of the bible were written by men who held those ideas back 2000 years ago, but they are not relevant to our lives today.

First of all "woman" means "from man."
Corinthians 11:7-9 ... Man shouldn't be ashamed of himself or the way he was made, because he is the work of God. And neither should a woman. For she is the work of God through Man. Sure whithout man there wouldn't be woman. But without woman there wouldn't be man.
Corinthians 14:34 and Timothy 2:11-14 ... That law changed after Jesus died on the cross. Have you ever heard of Joyce Meyer? She's a preacher and has reached thousands with books, tapes, and preaching live. God speaks through her. She's a very powerful woman. And God is happy with what she does.
I hope this answers your questions.

women need to come down off this rights thing. For an eternity women raised the children mostly by themselves anything that is heavily entrenched in a culture the women had control over. In those times the jobs women had were preferable to what man did. Home, hot meals kids to keep them cpmpany in groups they had fellowship working and watching kids. Today man changed his job from the isolated hiunter in the cold and dangerous world of nature to something more compforatable and then women decoded they wanted some of that and instead of slowly changing culture so the family could adjust they thrust their demands on all, males children. They wanted this life of career and holding the position of power enough to decide killing the unborn was an OK thing. Hope you do not expect sympathy from people who were ther b4 women pretty much turned our culture into a large power struggle out children are paying for cuz you are not getting it from this corner.
Jesus washed everyones feet and pointed out they who serve will be honored in heavn. Women were very easily able to claim that reward but as things are now noone seems to even value it much and it is the competition between the sexes which has eclipsed the value of this reward. Yes women were and are the decieved and the deceivers to this day look around. Men though dishonest are just that women appears more honest but in the end in the big things it shows they are not.

You call it sexism, that's your opinion. It's life. No matter what women' lib says, men are the stronger sex. You can't have two people or two sexes in control because that causes mayhem. Admitting that does not make us inferior. We are strong in our own way. God knows without women, the world would be horrible and that's why we're here. What makes us so wonderful is that we can step aside and let someone else take the reigns. I let my husband make the major decisions because we don't need two heads of the house, just one. Why fight about it. I don't have a big ego and I know I 'm just as important to this house as he is. If you try to have two people in charge of any situation, male or female, all it would do is cause problems. Let the bitterness go. God loves men and women equally.

Because, I find when I obey God in these matters I am simply happier. When women try to take on male roles the result is often that they are miserable. Since I've been submitting to my husband, dressing and behaving like God says I should I've been much happier. I know that doesn't make sense but it's true. I don't have to do my job as a women AND the man's job too. I can let my husband be the man and I can just concentrate on my responsibilities.
You missed the part that a man is supposed to love his wife with the same love Jesus had for the church (and Jesus died for the church.) If every man loved his wife with the same love Jesus had for the church we would be able to turn the divorce rate right around. Since my husband started treating me the way God says he should our marriage has improved by leaps and bounds. Do you know that the Bible says that a man should not work or go off to war for the first year of marriage and that he's supposed to spend ALL of his time making his new wife happy? My husband treats me like a queen now and I LOVE it!!!!
Deu 24:5 ¶ When a man hath taken a new wife, he shall not go out to war, neither shall he be charged with any business: [but] he shall be free at home one year, and shall cheer up his wife which he hath taken.
God is not unfair. What is unfair is expecting women to work like men, think like men, dress like men, and act like men. We are different. To God, both men and women are important we just have different jobs and different responsabilities.

those are passages you have to look at from a cultural standpoint and get the overall message. Lets take the Timothy passage, because we'd be here all night talking about all of them. Paul was about unity, not sexism. In the secular culture of the day, women were allowed to do everything men were, except teach. The reason for this was that kids were taught things "the hard way" and they thought women would be too soft on them. This caused problems in the church because it was anti-cultural.
However, women were considered equals. Paul was saying "keep the peace and unity" not "women suck." He actually did a lot of "women are equal" stuff, too. So he was actually pretty liberating for his time.
I have no doubt that if Paul were here today, he would say "Hey, you are losing people because you DON'T let women teach. So let them!"

That was the custom in those days.
Somewhere in the Bible Jesus says that we are equal later in the New Testament. I'm sorry I don't have the exact scripture.
Before Jesus came, people were bound by all the Jewish LAWS. Keep reading :) Keep asking someone that really has studied the Bible ..........not just a non Christian that likes to run the Bible down. Certain things can be taken out of context in the Bible.

Oh I know it, I think though people like to pick and choose what parts they want to use today, for example they'll say women can be preachers, but the Bible clearly says they can't. it also say women are "saved" through childbearing , so what if they haven't had a child? I mean really, if you wanted to follow the Bible, women couldn't have jobs in the workforce because in Bible times she was taken care of by her father, and then her husband.

There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. (Galatians 3:28)
In other words, we're all equal.
The references you quote were likely intended for particular situations at the churches those letters were written to. I have not studied these passages in great detail but it may be that there were some vanity issues that needed to be addressed. I don't know. You're smart, you study it.
In any event, Christ likens His relationship to the church to the relationship between husbands and wives in general. As the husband should be obedient to God who cares for him, the wife would be obedient and respectful to her husband who in turn respects and cares for her. It is a concept that protects the wife.
Ephesians 5 does a much better job at explaining this and I recommend you study that in detail ASAP.
